Emilia Romagna Grand Prix

Imola first hosted the Italian Grand Prix in 1980 and then became the venue for the San Marino Grand Prix from 1981 to 2006. And in 2020, the circuit hosted Formula 1 again for the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix.

Bet on the Italian GP in F1

The Emilia Romagna Grand Prix at Imola will remain on the Formula 1 calendar until 2025 under an agreement with the FIA. The track returned to the calendar as Formula 1 sought to fill the gaps left by other races cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic. It has also been renovated to modern standards and can host a Formula 1 race (all bets on Formula 1).

After several horrific accidents, major changes have been made to the track layout to improve safety. Despite this, Imola remains one of the most difficult circuits for drivers — especially at the end of the lap, which is now faster and smoother. The old pit garages and the paddock have also been completely rebuilt.

Mauro Forghieri, former chief technical director of Ferrari, explains the difference between Monza and Imola.

"Monza is an outdated track that shows the limits of an old project, based on high top speeds and a few not difficult corners, while Imola offers a vision for much longer stretches of a very beautiful and challenging track."

BAR's lead race engineer, Jock Clear, noted that as the nature of the Imola circuit has changed, the chassis setup has moved from low downforce settings to maximize straight-line speed and include higher levels of downforce to maintain speeds in the corners.

Imola remains one of the most iconic circuits in the world. Formula 1 deserves to have such great historic Italian circuits on its calendar so that historic fans can have the opportunity to support all their drivers with great passion.

Recommended bets on the Italian GP

The track of Imola is narrow, making it difficult to overtake, especially with the increased width of the tires. Therefore, we recommend betting on drivers who have done well in qualifying and who will start high on the grid.

The corners to watch are the exits of turns 9 and 15 and the top of turn 13. We also recommend making live bets during the race.
