Japan only need a draw from their final Group H game against Poland to reach the World Cup knockout rounds but we feel they can progress in style with a win.
Their opponents have been bitterly disappointing at Russia 2018 and it remains to be seen how much desire is left after two defeats.
With the Samurai Blue playing with passion and energy, they get the nod to prevail in Volgograd at 3/2 for our first Japan vs Poland prediction.
A Look At Japan’s Betting Odds
Japan followed up an opening triumph over Colombia by showing great spirit to twice come from behind in a 2-2 draw with Senegal.
A high-intensity performance was capped by Takashi Inui’s precise finish and a second equaliser from Keisuke Honda.
Inui provided the cut-back for that goal and also hit the bar in a fine individual display, while Yuya Osako missed another golden chance on the break.
Head coach Akira Nishino said: “We were calm after conceding goals and it was positive that we were able to equalise twice.
“We constructed attacks well and played in our own rhythm. The substitutions also worked well.
“The players were very confident and positive and I myself thought we could have gone for the victory.”
The Samurai Blue do still look shaky at the back and keeper Eiji Kawashima does not inspire confidence.
A Look At Poland’s Betting Odds
Poland have looked a shadow of the team which finished five points clear of Denmark at the top of their qualifying pool.
After going down 2-1 to Senegal, they were caught flat-footed in defence numerous times during a 3-0 defeat by Colombia.
Manager Adam Nawalka said: “We wanted to counter-attack and play fast but Colombia were better.”
Robert Lewandowski, the continent’s leading scorer in qualifying, was once more starved of service but did look dangerous on the few occasions he did get free.
He may get off the mark here, but we’re going for the Samurai Blue to oblige 2-1 at 19/2 to complete our Japan vs Poland betting tips.
