Belgium took a while to get going before eventually thumping Panama 3-0 and may again have to bide their time when taking on Tunisia.
The Eagles of Carthage suffered a heart-breaking late loss to England in their World Cup opener but look up for a battle at Russia 2018.
We think the Red Devils will get there in the end again, but don’t think this Moscow match will be a walk in the park.
Our first Belgium vs Tunisia prediction is 14/5 for the scores to be level at half-time and then Roberto Martinez’s side to win.
A Look At Belgium’s Betting Odds
Belgium carved out a couple of decent chances in the opening period in Sochi, but were generally below-par against a pretty moderate Panama outfit.
However, Dries Mertens volleyed them in front just after the break and then Romelu Lukaku bagged a nice brace from assists by Kevin De Bruyne and Eden Hazard.
Martinez said: “It was exactly what we expected – there are no easy games at the World Cup.
“We started very well but then became frustrated as the first half wore on.
“But I was delighted in the way the team reacted and the commitment everyone showed to keep a clean sheet.
“In the second half, we found our composure and the goal from Dries Mertens, a great goal, was so important for us.
“In a World Cup, you have to play for 90 minutes and we had to be prepared to work hard, show maturity and real togetherness.”
A Look At Tunisia’s Betting Odds
Tunisia rallied bravely after going behind and losing goalkeeper Mouez Hassan to injury when drawing level with England through Ferjani Sassi’s penalty.
That spot-kick and some resilient defending seemed set to earn the north Africans a point until Harry Kane headed in his second goal in additional time.
Nabil Maaloul spoke with pride about his side’s display in defeat, commenting: “We played much better in the second half, but it was God’s will after all.”
We’re expecting more of the same mixture of gutsy and sometimes cynical defending from the Eagles of Carthage at Spartak Stadium.
Lukaku will have noted how Tunisia looked vulnerable to a ball over the top, though, while two England goals from set-pieces will also have alarm bells ringing.
Let’s finish off our Belgium vs Tunisia betting tips by taking 21/4 for a 2-0 victory.
