Face-off: 1900 ET, 27/11/2021
Venue: T-Mobile Arena
Edmonton prevailed 5-3 when visiting Las Vegas last month but the Golden Knights have improved since and are fancied to gain revenge.
Peter DeBoer’s side went into that game on the back of two defeats but are currently on a run of eight wins in 11, whereas the Oilers are in a patchy period.
We’re going for a home victory by any means at 1.83 on the money line to kick off our Vegas Golden Knights vs Edmonton Oilers predictions.
Vegas Golden Knights Odds
Vegas were very strong for two periods when travelling to Nashville on Wednesday, establishing a 3-0 lead through Chandler Stephenson, Jonas Rondbjerg and Adam Brooks.
The Predators held their own in an open final section but Alex Pietrangelo and Mark Stone were on target to wrap up a 5-2 success.
Stephenson added an assist and three takeaways in another powerful performance as he continues to show great consistency and leadership.
The Golden Knights have been hampered by absentees at times this term but seem to now be settling into a nice rhythm.
Vegas are 5-1-0 at home this month, although they have conceded at least twice in all of those games.
Looking at the NHL odds for this contest, we like 3.7 for the hosts to oblige in regular time and both teams to score more than once.
Edmonton Oilers Odds
Edmonton are just above their opponents in the Western Pacific division, with these teams second and third behind Calgary.
The Oilers are coming off a nice 5-3 triumph in Arizona, with in-form attacking trio Connor McDavid, Leon Draisaitl and Zack Kassian all on song again.
German forward Draisaitl improved his NHL-leading tally of goals to 20 with a double while McDavid also bagged a pair.
Two further assists for Draisaitl even helped him to become the first Edmonton player since Wayne Gretzky to score 40 points in the opening 19 matches of a campaign.
There are a couple of factors which concern us about the Oilers here, though.
They have conceded first nine times in their last 10 games and have often faltered on the road this month, losing away to Detroit, Buffalo, Winnipeg and Dallas.
Let’s finish off our NHL predictions at T-Mobile Arena by taking 1.8 for Vegas to open the scoring and 7.5 they win by two goals.
Nashville 2-5 VEGAS
Arizona 3-5 EDMONTON
Head-to-head: Vegas 3-5 Edmonton, Edmonton 2-3 Vegas, Vegas 3-0 Edmonton, Vegas 2-4 Edmonton
