This NFL season is tight. 20 teams are either tied for, or within one game of leading their division after Week 6.
It’s unlikely that a slate of Week 7 games will make the postseason scramble anymore clear, but with a few of the season’s early heavy hitters adorning the UK airwaves there’s still plenty of reasons to have a punt.
Here’s the lowdown:
Cincinnati Bengals @ Indianapolis Colts
The slumping Bengals arrive at Lucas Oil stadium having given up 80 combined points in their last two outings.
The Colts, on the other hand, are in a groove having won all of their last four matches on their way to owning the league’s best offence in total yards gained and points-per-contest.
Indy’s confidence also benefits from a 7-2 head-to-head record against the Bengals, as well as suffering just one defeat in their last seven home games.
Bet: Colts (-3.0) to win @ 13/15
New York Giants @ Dallas Cowboys
It could be a while before the Giants feel good about their football again.
They were shut out by the Philadelphia Eagles last time, travel to the league’s most in-form team this week, then have to endure a bye after that. And that’s not even mentioning the year-ending injury to receiver Victor Cruz, one of their best players.
Having toppled defending Super Bowl champs, the Seattle Seahawks, for their fifth straight win in Week 6 the Cowboys look formidable at the moment with running back DeMarco Murray dominating.
Bet: Cowboys to win @ 1/3
San Francisco 49ers @ Denver Broncos
The Broncos offense, guided by future Hall of Fame quarterback Peyton Manning, is notorious in the NFL but the last time two times it has come up against a vaunted defence, it has failed.
Both of those defeats came to the Seahawks and now, against the league’s second meanest D, Manning is tested again.
Currently enjoying a three-game win streak, it’s the 49ers’ stoppers that are picked to prevail in a highly-anticipated matchup.
Bet: 49ers (+6.5) to win @ 19/20
