Over 2.5 goals in Barcelona v Real Betis @ 23/100
Whenever Barcelona play you expect goals, and plenty of them at that. On 12 occasions in games involving the Catalans this season there have been over 2.5 goals scored and I cannot see it being any different when Real Betis visit the Camp Nou.
Since being promoted to La Liga, Betis have exceeded all expectations and currently sit in a respectable tenth position. On the road they have beaten Atletico Madrid, and although they were defeated by Real Madrid at the Bernabeu, Betis did still manage to get on the scoresheet.
With Barca, amazingly, have not conceded a single La Liga goal on home soil this term, that run has to end at some stage and Betis could quite easily snatch a goal on the counter attack. Having said that, if Pep Guardiola’s men do not score at least three in front of their own fans it will be a turn-up for the books, as they have managed this in every home game thus far this campaign.
Over 2.5 goals in Juventus v Cagliari @ 4/5
Juventus currently sit top of Serie A and five out of their eight home fixtures have ended with over 2.5 goals being scored.
Away from home, Cagliari’s fixtures average 2.38 goals, so they are on the cusp of reaching the required 2.5 mark. And when they have played two of the so-called giants of Serie A this term, there have been three goals scored on both occasions.
The season opener saw Cagliari record a 2-1 victory at Roma and in November they were beaten 2-1 at Inter Milan. Weighing it all up, it should be a game that will have goals, and the odds of 4/5 for there to be over 2.5 goals scored represent great value.
Over 2.5 goals in Marseille v Lille @ 11/10
Sunday sees two of the top six go head to head in Ligue 1 when Lille visit Marseille. Lille’s last game before the winter break was a spectacular 4-4 draw against Nice, so if this is anything to go by then it should be a given for there to be over 2.5 goals here. When these two sides met earlier in the season, Lille came out on top with a 3-2 victory, so this fixture is accustomed to plenty of goals and a repeat should be on the cards this afternoon.
