After a congested few days of European action, it’s back to the bread and butter of domestic football this weekend and that means we’ve lined up our customary over 2.5 goals treble.
We’re tipping the games at Newcastle, West Brom and Portsmouth to all contain three or more goals. Backing those outcomes together with the free £25 bet on offer for joining bwin.com would bring returns of £183.75 if successful.
Read on to find out why all three merit inclusion…
Over 2.5 goals in Newcastle vs Wolves @ 3/4
Newcastle have what looks like an assured goalscoring partnership up front as Demba Ba and Papiss Cisse are now back from Africa Cup of Nations duty and the latter has already got his first goal for his new club. The deadly duo both scored in their last home game against Aston Villa and Newcastle have scored two goals or more in three of their last four home games, with four of the last five at home seeing over 2.5 goals scored. Wolves are in turmoil after the embarrassingly botched campaign to find a successor to the sacked Mick McCarthy but will go to Newcastle without fear and expecting to score – they have notched a goal or more in five of their last six away matches but have only kept one clean sheet in their last 11 away days.

Over 2.5 goals in West Brom vs Sunderland @ 11/10
West Brom are on a poor recent run in the Premier League and their home form does not make for pretty reading. They have lost their last three games 2-1 and a 4-2 FA Cup victory over Cardiff is their only win in their last eight at the Hawthorns. On the positive side for our treble, eight of their last ten home matches have seen over 2.5 goals scored and they have conceded at least two goals in each of their last four outings in the Black Country. Sunderland are a side who can’t stop scoring recently and have found the net in 12 of their last 13 games. Away from home the Black Cats have only failed to score once in their last six and their notable tallies include three against QPR and four against Wigan. West Brom’s inability to keep a clean sheet will ensure Sunderland get a goal or two and over 2.5 goals should be a formality.

Over 2.5 goals in Portsmouth vs Leeds @ evens
Portsmouth’s off-field problems are once again making the headlines but it is their football that should be doing the talking this weekend and we expect a cracker when Leeds and new boss Neil Warnock pitch up at Fratton Park. Pompey have not been great at home recently but Leeds’ open style and ‘you score three, we score four’ approach should ensure goals. Leeds’ last six games have produced over 2.5 goals and they have only kept one clean sheet on the road in eight attempts. Portsmouth will definitely get chances to score and expect a couple of late goals in this match to ensure the bet is a winning one.
