We’ve frisked Saturday’s fixtures and come up with a trio of matches which look destined to contain plenty of attacking entertainment.
If you back our selection in a treble with the free £25 bet on offer for anyone joining bwin.com, you could win £77.03 if all three indeed feature three or more goals.
And here’s why doing just that makes perfect sense….
Over 2.5 goals in Arsenal vs Blackburn @ 57/100
These two sides have very erratic Premier League records this season despite being at different ends of the table. Surprisingly, both failed to score in their respective midweek fixtures but don’t expect that to continue here. There are major question marks over each of them defensively, while both generally have no problem scoring goals. Arsenal beat Aston Villa 3-2 in the FA Cup last weekend and Blackburn’s recent game against Newcastle was only the third time all season they had failed to score. Rovers have scored in every away match in all competitions except in their Carling Cup defeat at Cardiff City – a match beleaguered boss Steve Kean famously ‘forfeited’.
Over 2.5 goals in Getafe vs Real Madrid @ 57/100
This fixture, and selection, looks to be all about Real Madrid. Getafe have been strong in front of their own fans this season – only Barcelona have conceded less than their six home goals – and they will try to keep it tight. But not many teams can keep Real Madrid quiet this season and they have scored twice or more on the road in ten of their last 12 outings. Madrid have fallen behind in their last few matches before coming back to win (or draw against Barcelona) so an early Getafe goal would only increase the chances of this over 2.5 bet landing. With Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema and company on the pitch, Madrid should get over the line on their own.
Over 2.5 goals in Barcelona vs Real Sociedad @ 1/4
We finish the tip with the NAP of the day. Barcelona are usually a certainty to go over 2.5 goals, but this is especially true when they are playing at Camp Nou. A missed Lionel Messi penalty in midweek means the little Argentine will be out with a point to prove, so expect a couple of goals from him. In nine of their last ten home league matches Barcelona have racked up three goals or more so another game with over 2.5 goals looks a foregone conclusion. Sociedad themselves have scored in five of their last six away games, so it would be no surprise to see them get their name on the scoresheet in an eventual defeat.
