Bwinbetting’s Sam Cale has put together a goalscoring treble which would see punters who use their £25 free bet win £378 if all three players find the back of the net at odds of just over 14/1. Below, Sam explains the reasoning behind his picks.
Chelsea v Sunderland – Frank Lampard to score at any time @ 17/10
With Didier Drogba on African Cup of Nations duty and Fernando Torres still not performing as a Chelsea player, the pressure is on Frank Lampard to get the goals.
Despite the criticism he’s had this season and the transfer speculation surrounding a move away from Stamford Bridge, he always seems to bounce back. He has scored in his last two games in all competitions and currently has eight goals in 18 league appearances.
The England midfielder has a good record against the Black Cats, too, with six goals in his last ten appearances. He therefore looks well placed to shoulder the burden.
Chelsea need to improve their form so they don’t fall any further behind the top three teams. Despite Sunderland’s revival under new manager Martin O’Neill, Chelsea will be raring to go and should beat the Black Cats with a little help from Lamps.
Catania v Roma – Erik Lamela to score at any time @ 5/2
With Roma’s top goalscorer Pablo Osvaldo out injured until March and the legendary Francesco Totti not as prolific as he once was, it’s a good job the Giallorossi have a good squad.
They go into this game after a 3-0 win over Fiorentina in the Coppa Italia, with young Argentinian Erik Lamela getting a brace. This performance means he should start against Catania.
Catania have failed to win in their last two games and have conceded five goals in that time. With that, you’d expect the away side to have their chances, and Lamela should be on the end of them.
Mallorca v Real Madrid – Karim Benzema to score at any time @ 3/5
Real Madrid are top goalscorers in La Liga with 61 goals and are five points clear of Barcelona at the top of the table.
They have Cristiano Ronaldo with 21 goals and Gonzalo Higuain with 13 goals, but I’ve gone for Karim Benzema to score anytime against Mallorca.
Despite only playing 119 minutes over the last three games, the Frenchman has managed to score four goals and he scored the only goal of the game in their cup win over Malaga in midweek.
In Real’s last meeting with Mallorca, Benzema got the only goal of the game, so he looks good to add to his ten league goals this season.
