Alessandro Matri to score for Juventus v Novara @17/10
With Novara languishing in 19th place in Serie A (second bottom) and having conceded an average of two goals per game away from home this season, it seems to be a case of ‘how many will they score?’ for league leaders Juventus at the Juventus Stadium on Sunday.
Although Juve haven’t really had a prolific striker in their side this season, the favourite with bwin to hit the net at any time on Sunday is Alessandro Matri at 17/10. This is because he is their top scorer with six in 13 games and is sure to get plenty of chances to add to his tally at the weekend against such a generous defence.
With a comfortable win for Juventus in the pipeline, backing their top scorer to hit the net at 17/10 does seem like a sensible move.
Antonio Di Natale to score for Udinese v Lazio @ 3/2
Lazio versus Udinese on Sunday sees two of the hottest strikers in Europe go head to head.
Lazio’s Miroslav Klose has been one of the most prolific strikers on the continent for the last ten years and has started his Lazio career in fine form, hitting the net ten times in 17 appearances so far. At 6/5 he could certainly be a good bet to score at any time, but I am actually going to stick my neck out and go for Udinese’s Antonio Di Natale in this one instead.
The Udinese hitman has scored 12 times in just 16 games for the Bianconeri this season and, more importantly, he goes into the game on better goalscoring form than Klose. Di Natale has scored in six of his last eight games in all competitions, compared to Klose, who has scored in just one of the last seven.
For this reason, Di Natale to score at any time at odds of 3/2 looks like great value.
Sergio Aguero to score for Man City v Arsenal @ 6/5
Pocket dynamo Sergio Aguero has set the Premier League on fire this season, scoring 11 goals in 13 appearances so far. The only player to score more than him, Robin van Persie, will be facing him at the Etihad on Sunday, but Aguero looks like the safer option when it comes to picking your goalscorer treble.
Van Persie looks like scoring every time he takes the pitch and that is why he is priced at 3/2 with bwin in the anytime scorer market, but you just get the feeling that it will be the home team who are doing a lot more of the attacking at the weekend.
Arsenal have an atrocious defensive record against the top teams in the Premier League this season, conceding eight against Man Utd, three against Chelsea and two against Liverpool.
Facing such a wobbly defence, it is fair to assume that Man City, the Premier League’s highest goalscorers, will have a field day on Sunday and Aguero is sure to be at the head of the queue for goals.
At 6/5 to score in the game, adding Aguero to your anytime goalscorer treble seems like a wise move.
