Tuesday throws up a whole host of matches from the Champions League, the Championship and the FA Cup, so there are a number of options to mull over for this evening’s football betting coupon.
Following the success of my weekend banker treble, I’ve picked out another three teams who should oblige. Punters joining bwin.com can use their free £25 bet on this three-pronged attack and will win £75.60 if successful.
Aldershot to beat Maidenhead @ 13/50
League Two Aldershot play host to Conference South side Maidenhead in an FA Cup first-round replay and the league side should have enough to see off the part-timers. Aldershot were beaten by play-off chasers Gillingham at the weekend but they had won their last two home games prior to that reverse. Meanwhile, Maidenhead have lost their last four league games, conceding 14 goals along the way. The Shots look nailed on to win this one, so stick them on the betslip at 13/50.
Bayern Munich to beat Villarreal @ 1/5
Bundesliga leaders Bayern Munich suffered a setback at the weekend with a 1-0 defeat to Dortmund but that will not stop them from dominating Villarreal at the Allianz Arena. Munich have won their two home Champions League matches so far this season, as well as five straight Bundesliga fixtures in front of their own fans without conceding a goal prior to the Dortmund slip-up. Spearheaded by goal machine Mario Gomez and the fit-again Arjen Robben – and with a place in the last 16 tantalisingly close – expect them to bounce back and defeat a Villarreal side with no away win in their last nine attempts.
Manchester City to beat Napoli @ evens
Although this game is not a ‘banker’ when looking at the price, the formbook certainly suggests otherwise. City thumped Villarreal in their last away match in the Champions League, becoming the first English team to win at El Madrigal with an easy 3-0 triumph. Couple that with their explosive start to the Premier League season – 11 wins and a draw from 12 matches thus far – and it’s fair to say they should be a lot shorter than even money. City need to win this game to book their place in the knock-out stages and boss Roberto Mancini will surely pick his strongest possible side. Napoli have won just one of their last seven matches and their debut season in the Champions League has been a struggle. Back a Man City win at evens.
