There’s a full programme of Football League action on Tuesday evening, which means plenty of opportunities for football betting fans to make some money.
We’re feeling confident after landing our most recent Banker Treble on Sunday, with Paris SG, Fiorentina and Real Madrid all obliging.
And if you back the three teams we’ve picked here with your free £25 bet for joining bwin.com, you could potentially add a cool £78.42 to your betting balance.
So, without further ado, here are our choices….
Reading to beat Portsmouth @ 12/25
What better place to start the treble than with one of the form teams in the whole of England, let alone the Championship?
Reading have come storming into automatic promotion contention in the second half of the season and their 2-1 win at Millwall on Saturday was their sixth straight league triumph.
As well as playing the attractive passing football demanded by boss Brian McDermott, the Royals are also more than capable of keeping the back door closed too, as shown by a record of just three goals conceded in their last eight outings.
With Reading also winning their last three games at the Madejski Stadium without conceding, crisis club Portsmouth will surely be sent home empty-handed.
Pompey have just two away wins all season, scoring a meagre 14 goals in total, and are now without a victory in six league matches as they continue to fight for their very existence.
In short, there are all the required ingredients here for a straightforward home win.
Charlton to beat Colchester @ 57/100
Charlton Athletic are steamrolling League One at present, sitting a whopping 13 points clear of second-placed Sheffield United after Yann Kermorgant’s last-gasp winner at Bournemouth on Saturday.
Boss Chris Powell has brought in more than 20 players since the end of last season but is doing a superb job of moulding them into a cohesive unit who are incredibly difficult to beat.
Indeed, the Addicks have not tasted defeat in 16 home matches in England’s third tier this term and although six of those were draws, they should prove too strong for Colchester.
There is a risk of complacency creeping in considering the size of their lead, but Powell’s troops are a very professional bunch and will be desperate to secure promotion back to the Championship as quickly as possible.
Colchester are generally unpredictable on their travels – their record reads won four, drawn five and lost six – but a closer inspection of their away form is revealing.
Defeats at all of the other main players in League One in Sheffield Wednesday, Sheffield United, Huddersfield and MK Dons suggest they will do well to get anything at the Valley.
With Charlton winning the reverse fixture at the Weston Homes Community Stadium 2-0 in August – and both of their previous home meetings with the U’s in League One – the Addicks look set to celebrate another three points here.
Swindon to beat Dagenham & Redbridge @ 7/20
There’s not much need for me to justify first at home to 22nd in League Two, is there?
Swindon have been in formidable form in recent weeks, with a run of ten straight league victories finally brought to an end on Saturday as they went down 2-0 at Oxford.
Admittedly, they may be shaken by that unexpected reverse, but the truth is that the U’s are a decent side and were always going to be tricky opponents as they view playing Town as their biggest game of the season.
Paolo Di Canio will be demanding a response from his players and what better way to get back on track than with a home game against the struggling Daggers?
The Robins have won eight straight league matches at the County Ground, conceding just once in the process, and haven’t been beaten on their own patch since August.
In fairness to John Still’s men, they have started a mini-revival of late with seven points in their last three games, hauling themselves off the bottom at the weekend by beating Bradford 1-0.
They will head to Wiltshire with nothing to fear but with just three wins in their 16 away games this term – compared to 13 wins from 16 home matches for Swindon – I suspect they will be unable to resist the rampant Robins.
