Porto to beat Academica @ 7/50
Porto have one of the best home league records in Europe, having won ten, drawn one and lost not a single game on their own patch all season. In fact, they have lost just one game in the entire campaign, and have drawn only four, meaning that they have won 16 of their 21 games so far.
Academica are without a league win in their last nine games, and have won only two on the road all season.
More importantly, however, they have never beaten Porto in the Portuguese Primeira Liga in their present form, and have lost 16 out of 16 against them since returning to the top flight in 2002.
With Porto looking to maintain their three-point lead at the top of the table, only a win will do for the home team. They should manage it comfortably – home win all the way.
Sturm Graz to beat SC Wiener Neustadt @ 11/20
Sturm Graz are the ultimate Jekyll and Hyde team, proving unbeatable at home but utterly incapable of winning on the road. Luckily for them, this week sees them take on Bundesliga strugglers SC Wiener Neustadt on home soil in a game that has home win written all over it.
While Graz are yet to record a single away win all season, losing six and drawing six, they are yet to taste defeat at home, winning eight and drawing three. Despite their horrific away record, they still sit just five points off the top of the league and that is testament to just how strong they have been at home all season.
SC Wiener Neustadt, on the other hand, have won just once in their last seven games and sit second from bottom of the Austrian Bundesliga.
Home advantage is the key here – back Sturm Graz to continue their magnificent home record with a comfortable victory.
Heerenveen to beat Excelsior Rotterdam @ 9/50
Excelsior Rotterdam are rooted to the bottom of the Dutch Eredivisie table having won only three games all season, none of which have been away.
On the road they have lost nine and drawn three, conceding 35 goals in the process and scoring only five. They have already lost 7-0 away at Roda, 6-1 away at PSV and 4-1 away at Ajax this season, and they have failed to score in four of their last five matches on their travels.
On Saturday they travel to Heerenveen to face a side who beat them 5-0 earlier in the campaign, and who have lost only twice at home all season. They have only suffered one defeat in their last ten matches, recording seven wins, and they go into Saturday’s match with a realistic chance of winning the league title at the end of the season.
If this isn’t a home win then we can all just pack up and go home now.
