Before we turn our attention to Euro 2012, there’s a massive weekend of football ahead including the Champions League final, the Championship play-off final and the Coppa Italia final. And that’s only the tip of the iceberg.
In a bid to earn punters a bit of cash which they can lump on England to win Euro 2012 at 13/1 (or perhaps save it for a bet with a better chance of winning), I’ve picked three banker bets which, when combined, result in odds of over 5/1.

Bayern Munich to beat Chelsea in normal time @ 81/100
The biggest game in club football brings together two teams who have struggled this season in league football. Bayern Munich finished eight points behind Bundesliga champions Borussia Dortmund and Chelsea ended up in sixth place in the Premier League, knowing that if they are to play in the Champions League next season they have to win this year’s final.
Added intrigue is afforded by the game being played at the German side’s ground, the Allianz Arena, and it is Bayern who are favourites to win the trophy. Despite losing the league, and being destroyed 5-2 in the German cup final by Dortmund last weekend, the Bavarians will be buoyed by their home support and confident about their prospects of playing at a stadium where they have only lost twice in the league this season. They also outclassed Manchester City when they hosted the English champions in the group stages earlier in the season. With this in mind, don’t expect the Blues to add a first Champions League trophy to their FA Cup success earlier in the month.
Over 2,5 goals in West Ham v Blackpool @ 83/100
This game offers the winner the last remaining ticket to next season’s Premier League and, for both West Ham and Blackpool, it is a case of trying to return at the first time of asking. I expect a good game with goals, much like Blackpool’s last play-off final victory when they beat Cardiff 3-2. The reason? The Hammers have the second best attack in the Championship, while the Tangerines are ranked number three. There were also over 2.5 goals in the second legs of the two sides’ respective play-off semi-finals, and also in both league matches between the pair, when Sam Allardyce’s men comfortably won 4-0 at home and 4-1 away.
Juventus to beat Napoli in normal time @ 19/20
Juventus face Napoli in the Coppa Italia final aiming to achieve the double, having already won Serie A. They won the league by four points over AC Milan and went the whole league campaign unbeaten. Juve have had the upper hand over the team from Naples this season, too, having won 3-0 at home and drawn 3-3 away. You can’t rule out Napoli with the likes of Edinson Cavani, Ezequiel Lavezzi and Marek Hamsik but I just feel this is Antonio Conte’s side’s time. Back them to lay down a marker on the way to returning to European prominence next season.
