Lille v Dijon FC (French Ligue 1, Sunday 5pm)
Selection: Lille to win @13/50
The last time I picked a Banker Treble a couple of weeks ago I chose Lille to beat Stade Brestois, which they did comfortably. Since then they have won 3-2 away to Ajaccio and on Sunday they host an inconsistent Dijon side who sit 14th – just one place and two points ahead of Stade Bretois – in the league.
Dijon have lost five of their eight away games so far this season, and have conceded more goals on the road (18) than any other side in the league.
Lille, on the other hand, have looked strong at home, losing just once so far this season, winning four and drawing three. At 13/50 it is difficult to see past them recording their third straight win on Sunday.
Club Brugge v St. Truiden (Jupiler Pro League, Belgium, 6pm)
Selection: Club Brugge to win @13/50
It’s third against second-bottom as Club Brugge face St Truiden in the Belgian Jupiler Pro League, and a home win definitely looks like a banker.
Visitors St Truiden have won just two out of 16 games this season, and have only managed one win away from home, losing five and drawing the other two. Their goal difference of -15 is the second worst in the league, and away from home they have conceded more than double the number of goals than they have scored.
Brugge are genuine title contenders as they sit in third place just five points behind leaders Anderlecht. They have won five of their seven home matches this season, and they have won their last three league games 1-0.
At 13/50 for a home win, you would have to be crazy to bet against Club Brugge in this one.
RKC Waalwijk v Ajax Amsterdam (Dutch Eredivisie, 2.30pm)
Selection: Ajax to win @ 21/50
RKC Waalwijk go into Sunday’s tie with Ajax looking to avoid a third straight league defeat, but after losing their last match 4-0 at Vitesse the odds are firmly stacked against them.
RKC Waalwijk have only won two of their seven home games so far, and are languishing in 14th position in the table, just five places off the bottom of the league.
Ajax went out of the Champions League in midweek but should bounce back to form with a win on Sunday. They have already won four and drawn two of their eight away games this season which is a decent record, and go into the game on good form domestically having scored nine goals in their last three matches.
Picking an away team to win is often a risk on a Banker Treble, but I don’t have any worries about this one. At 21/50, Ajax should take all three points quite comfortably.
