This Sunday’s accumulator focuses mainly on the domestic cups in both Scotland and England, with Napoli being the only overseas team to make it into the selections alongside MK Dons, Rangers and a draw between Hibernian and Hearts.
The Dons should have too much for bitter rivals AFC Wimbledon, while the Edinburgh derby could be too close to call. Rangers are massive favourites to defeat Elgin at Ibrox, while Napoli should have no trouble at all in disposing of bottom club Pescara in Serie A.
New customers who sign up online with bwin qualify for a free £20 bet and using that to back this Sunday’s accumulator at odds of just under 5/1 will return £108.98 if successful.
Hibernian and Hearts to draw @ 11/5
Hearts are unbeaten in 12 matches against Hibs and they won all four of the meetings between the sides last season. They haven’t lost a derby at Easter Road for two-and-a-half years and they haven’t lost a Scottish Cup tie to their rivals since 1979.
In fact, Hearts have dominated the Edinburgh derby since it was first played in 1875. They won 1-0 that day and since then, they have won almost twice as many derby matches as Hibernian.
But there is a rare optimism in Edinburgh’s East End that this time around things might be different. Hibs are currently enjoying one of their best seasons for years, sitting just one point off the top of the Scottish Premier League table, a full nine points ahead of Hearts.
With history favouring Hearts but form favouring Hibernian, a repeat of August’s 1-1 draw at Easter Road could be on the cards.
Rangers to beat Elgin @ 11/100
Rangers and Elgin might only be separated by two points in the Scottish Third Division table, but the sides are poles apart in terms of quality.
The Gers thrashed Second Division Alloa 7-0 at Ibrox in the previous round and they have already beaten Elgin 5-1 in the league this season, so the odds of just 2/25 on Ally McCoist’s side winning seem entirely justified.
Of course, Arbroath’s sensational draw at Celtic Park on Saturday underlined that no cup tie is ever a gimme, but Rangers look set to hold up their leg of the accumulator.
MK Dons to beat AFC Wimbledon @ 3/10
It’s a match that the football world has been waiting years to see, but one that pretty much nobody at AFC Wimbledon has any appetite for.
Their fans have threatened a boycott and have expressed sadness that the match is even happening in the first place.
That attitude is bound to rub off on the visiting players, who already face a huge uphill struggle at the home of a side who sit just three points off the top of League One, while the Wombles languish in 21st in League Two, one point above the relegation zone and without a win in four games.
Almost every real football fan will be rooting for Wimbledon in this one, but it is unlikely to have a fairytale ending.
Napoli to beat Pescara @ 9/50
Struggling Pescara have won just three of their 14 Serie A games this season, including just one away from home, leaving them stuck to the bottom of the table. Their record against the top sides is horrendous, losing 6-1 at home to Juventus, 3-0 at home to Inter and 3-0 at home to Lazio.
Napoli are definitely one of the ‘top sides’, sitting in second place in the Serie A table, just five points behind champions Juventus with a game in hand and unbeaten in four matches. They have dropped only four points at home all season and won’t drop any more here.
