Following the season opener in Seattle, the first NFL Sunday is quickly upon us, with a feast of televised action for fans to tuck into.
Sky Sports host two of the three games, with the New England Patriots at the Miami Dolphins and the San Francisco 49ers’ visit to the Dallas Cowboys.
Then, if your weary eyes will let you, you can take in the Indianapolis Colts’ trip to visit old friend Peyton Manning at the Denver Broncos live on Channel 4.
Along with all three matches getting beamed through the box, bwin.com have some tantalising prices to snap up on the spread. Read on for the low-down on all three:
Patriots @ Dolphins
It’s been almost 10 years since the New England Patriots last won the Super Bowl and with quarterback Tom Brady turning 37 at the beginning of August, time seems to be running out for the storied franchise to have one more day at the funfair.
Their quest for cotton candy should get off to a winning start against the Dolphins, who haven’t been a play-off side for five years..
Backing the 97/100 – an enhanced price – on the Pats overcoming the industry-best spread of -4 that bwin.com are offering is a no-brainer.
49ers @ Cowboys
If the NFL was in need of a blueprint for a chaotic off-season both of these teams could have written a version.
Most of the 49ers’ defensive unit is unavailable after getting either arrested, suspended or injured and the franchise even entertained trading their coach.
Meanwhile the Cowboys’ D, who allowed the NFL’s third-worst yards per game in history last season, has seen its two best players fly the nest and their replacements suffer injury.
The 49ers’ superior pedigree makes backing their 97/100 price against the spread the way to go though.
Colts @ Broncos
The first time Manning played against the franchise he spent 13 years with, last season, they inflicted the first defeat on his Broncos seven weeks into the campaign.
That encounter was a 39-33 gunslinger and this one is expected to follow suit. Siding with the overs in a 55.5 line is the appealing bet here.
