NBA Finals: Warriors can enjoy repeat win over Cavs

The Golden State Warriors will meet the Cleveland Cavaliers in the NBA Finals for the fourth straight year and our money is on the California-based favourites to prevail.

Steve Kerr’s side claimed a 4-2 series win in 2015 and romped home by a 4-1 margin 12 months ago, with Cleveland claiming a 4-3 triumph in between.

LeBron James will do his best to keep the Cavaliers competitive this time, as he takes part in an eighth straight deciding series.

However, the Warriors look a class apart overall and we like 31/20 for them to oblige 4-1 again in our NBA Finals betting tips.

Last season, Golden State secured two emphatic victories on home turf, before shading Game 3 by a narrow margin in Cleveland.

The Cavaliers hit back with a big victory, before losing 129-120 away in Game 5 to end the series.

A similar schedule sets up the possibility of a repeat performance, with Cleveland tipped to pick up just one victory from their two home games scheduled so far.

Cavs just lack strength in depth

James has once more lived up to the billing of being one of the greatest NBA stars of all-time, leading his side to a 4-3 defeat of Boston Celtics in the Eastern Conference finals.

However, the supporting cast is not as strong as when he reached four finals with Miami, or the last three since returning to Cleveland.

The Warriors rely heavily on key duo Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant, but Draymond Green and Klay Thompson also made the All-Star Game.

Veteran stalwarts Shaun Livingston, David West, Andre Iguodala, Zaza Pachulia and JaVale McGee help to keep this well-oiled machine ticking over.

They were pushed all the way to the wire by Houston in the Western Conference finals, but a Curry-inspired comeback in Game 7 of that clash should send them into this series on a high.

We’re adding 4/5 for the Warriors to win Game 1 by at least 12 points on home turf to our NBA Finals betting predictions.

Last year, Durant posted 38 points and Curry 10 assists as Golden State got off to a flying start with a 113-91 victory at Oracle Arena in Oakland.
