The final Grand Slam of the tennis-playing year is three days deep and free of shocks thus far.
None of note are foreseen across today’s helping either, but news.bwin.com/en/ have outlined four sure-fire winning bets to make up for the lack of intrigue.
16: 00 – Agnieszka Radwanska to beat Peng Shuai 2-0 @ 21/50
Each and every one of this pair’s four past tussles has gone the distance.
However, Aggie’s been in largely uncompromising nick since taking the laurels at the Montreal Masters, squashing three of the four foes faced since underfoot for the loss of just seven games.
Against a rival that hasn’t reached the third round of a Grand Slam in her last eight attempts, the Pole can forge a straightforward progression once more.
16:00 – Feliciano Lopez to beat Ivan Dodig @ 57/100
Don’t be fooled by their 2-2 career head-to-head, Croatia’s Dodig has yet to take a set off Judy Murray’s Spanish crush on any surface other than clay.
He’s also 5-9 for the year on hardcourt and Lopez’s greater mastery of the material – he KO’d Tomas Berdych and Milos Raonic in Toronto recently – will see him though.
16:00 – Marco Chiudinelli to beat Ilya Marchenko @ 6/5
The Swiss journeyman with the Italian name has every right to be cheesed off with underdog status in this tie against a foe rated just four rungs higher in the rankings (163).
He’s beaten Marchenko in each of their three previous meetings, two of which came on the hard stuff, with the most recent victory coming in Kolkata earlier this year.
Despite enduing the more complicated passage through the qualifiers of the pair, Chiudinelli is also enjoying his finest hardcourt season for many a moon with 18 wins in 28 outings.
17:30 – Angelique Kerber to beat Alla Kudryatseva @ 3/10
One of the most lopsided ledgers in the second round pits Kerber against her a Russian she has beaten in all four of their previous encounters for the loss of a single set.
An arduous three-setter in her first outing will further take the edge off Kudraytseva here, meaning normal service is expected.
