Wales were simply sensational when thrashing Scotland in their Six Nations opener and there is every reason to believe they can be competitive against England at Twickenham.

The defending champions were ultimately emphatic victors over Italy in Rome, but not before being put under some pressure by the Azzurri for parts of that match.

Both teams must again contend with injury problems, but we reckon the value lies with backing the visitors at 91/100 getting 9.5 points start for our England vs Wales betting predictions.

A Look At England’s Betting Odds

England began their quest for an unprecedented hat-trick of Six Nations titles by scoring seven tries in a 46-15 victory over Italy.

However, in between crossing the whitewash twice inside the opening 10 minutes and a late flurry of scores, there was plenty to pick apart, not least the way they were exposed out wide when leaking two tries.

“It wasn’t the perfect game but very, very positive,” declared Eddie Jones, who singled out two-try Sam Simmonds for special praise by stating: “He’s a bit different – he’s fast and runs good lines.”

We still feel Warren Gatland will have taken note of some defensive frailties that his free-flowing side can exploit and 13/4 for an away win is tempting from the England vs Wales odds.

A Look At Wales’ Betting Odds

Wales enjoyed their most emphatic start to a campaign since the expansion to six nations 18 years ago when romping to a 34-7 win over Scotland in Cardiff.

Full-back Leigh Halfpenny’s 24-point haul, including two tries, was one of the records to tumble, as a starting XV containing 10 Scarlets ran riot.

Despite now having George North, Liam Williams and Hallam Amos available after injury, Gatland has named an unchanged team, insisting: “The players deserve that for a very good performance.”

Wales have beaten England three times at Twickenham during Gatland’s 10-year reign – they did not manage it once in the 20 years prior to his appointment – so they will not be daunted by this task.

“I knew we were in a good place and knew we had been training well,” commented Gatland after thumping the Scots.

“I went back to New Zealand over Christmas and spoke to Grant Fox. He said the hardest game they had on the (November) tour was against Wales, and it was the best they played.

“I came away from that conversation feeling that we were not as far away as people thought we were.”

We’re finishing off our England vs Wales betting tips by taking 11/5 for the visitors to reach 10 points first.
