NFL betting tips: Chiefs to extend unbeaten run

Five weeks into the NFL season and it is still hard to pick two Super Bowl contenders in a season which has been continually unpredictable and open.

We have got three NFL betting tips for Week 6 though and a £5 treble would return just under £32 if they are successful.

Kansas City Chiefs to beat Pittsburgh Steelers @ 9/20

Only one team entered this week with an unbeaten record – the Kansas City Chiefs – and their run looks set to continue when they meet a Pittsburgh Steelers team reeling from a home loss to Jacksonville, when quarterback Ben Roethlisberger threw five picks.

Rookie running back Kareem Hunt leads the league in rushing yards and the Steelers’ ground defence ranks 28th so this looks like an ideal match-up for the Chiefs.

Yes, the Steelers went into Arrowhead and won during last year’s play-offs, but Andy Reid’s team are a different proposition this time around with a rejuvenated Alex Smith at QB set to guide them to another W.

Arizona Cardinals to beat Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ Evens

Like Pittsburgh, the 2-3 Arizona Cardinals have failed to impress so far – particularly when you consider their two victories both came in overtime.

This weekend they host a Tampa Bay Buccaneers team who have had an extra three days to prepare, having last been in action on Thursday night in a loss to the New England Patriots.

Yet they seem like a perfect opponent for Arizona. Tampa’s injury-ravaged secondary are 31st against the pass and the Cardinals, for all their difficulties, have the second best attack through the air.

The Bucs’ additional preparation time will be beneficial but look for QB Carson Palmer to torch their secondary and earn the Cards their third triumph of the term.

Los Angeles Rams to win at Jacksonville Jaguars @ 6/5

Two of the league’s more surprise packages meet in Florida and the Rams get the nod as our third pick in our NFL betting tips.

The Jags continue to be Jekyll and Hyde, having beaten Pittsburgh and Baltimore convincingly but having lost to Tennessee and the New York Jets, and their one-dimensional attack can be stifled by wily Rams defensive coordinator Wade Phillips.

This could be quite a low-scoring encounter where Rams running back Todd Gurley has a big day. Look for LA to come out on top and Jacksonville’s inconsistent campaign to continue.
