ITV Racing tips: Cheltenham, Newbury and Doncaster picks

We’re hoping to bash the bookies this weekend and there are a bumper 10 races in this Saturday’s ITV Racing tips.

Jumps fans will be rejoicing as Cheltenham returns to the schedule and we have four races at Prestbury Park to look at.

Cheltenham 1.45 – SAMBA DANCER

Fergal O’Brien saddles three as he looks to win the race he claimed with Benny’s Bridge two years ago.

The pick of his trio looks to be the hat-trick-seeking Samba Dancer, who was eased down to win at Stratford most recently.

Newbury 2.00 – LIGHT INFANTRY

David Simcock’s youngster created a taking impression on debut at Yarmouth last month and could take all the beating here if just as effective on testing ground.

Cheltenham 2.20 – JERSEY BEAN

It would be fitting for Cloth Cap to take this in the colours of the late Trevor Hemmings and the Grand National flop finished third in this contest 12 months ago.

However, this could go the way of Oliver Sherwood’s Jersey Bean, who was a course and distance winner when last seen and will relish drying ground.

Newbury 2.35 – ILARAAB

Siskany is a worthy favourite stepping out of handicap company but we’ll take a chance on William Haggas’ four-year-old who has made the podium at this level the last twice.

Cheltenham 2.55 – TITRONIC

The four-year-old has the chance to atone for his disappointing run in the Triumph Hurdle in the day’s feature at jumps HQ.

Sent off 4/1 for that Cheltenham Festival Grade One, Alan King’s charge was unable to land a blow but this race has cut up badly and looks extremely winnable.

Aidan O’Brien, horse racing, ITV racing tips

Doncaster 3.15 – LUXEMBOURG

Aidan O’Brien has a fantastic record in this end-of season Group One for the two-year-olds.

The ‘Master of Ballydoyle’ can win it for the fifth time in 10 years with his unbeaten son of Camelot, who looked top-class when obliterating the field in a Curragh Group Two last month.

Cheltenham 3.30 – SKY PIRATE

Jonjo O’Neill’s charge progressed 20lb on his way to Grand Annual glory at the Cheltenham Festival last season.

Although hit with a further 7lb hike and looking in the grasp of the handicapper, his class could see him come out on top again here.

Doncaster 3.50 – DEODAR

Flaming Rib arrives on a three-race winning run and is sure to be popular but it perhaps speaks volumes that Deodar is pitched straight in at Listed level after just one run.

Cheltenham 4.05 – TOBEFAIR

Irish raider Tullybeg has won his last two and could be plotting a course back to Prestbury Park for the Festival in March.

However, we’ll take a chance on Debra Hamer’s admirable 11-year-old, who rarely runs a bad race at this track and won this off a 14lb higher mark in 2019.

Doncaster 4.20 – DAKOTA GOLD

Michael Dods’ sprinter could show his class back in handicap company and the experienced seven-year-old won’t mind testing conditions on Town Moor.
