Bubba Watson returns to the golf course this week for the first time since his stunning victory at the Masters.
The American broke his major duck at Augusta on April 9th and will now aim to successfully defend his Zurich Classic title.
However, Watson has admitted that he was reluctant to head to New Orleans and leave behind one-month-old son Caleb, who he adopted two weeks before claiming the green jacket.
“Pretty much every day I cry – I cried this morning when I was leaving my boy,“ said an emotional Watson.
“I would love to be at home right now watching my little boy and spending time with my wife.”
The 33-year-old can expect a tough challenge to retain his trophy at TPC Louisiana but he is priced at a tempting 14/1 to hold off the likes of Luke Donald, who has been installed as 11/1 favourite.
There’s nothing separating Watson and Donald in bwin’s 72-hole head-to-head betting, with both priced as evens to outscore the other over the piece, while a tie is priced up at 16/1.
New customers registering with bwin can claim a free £25 bet and placing it on Watson to win the Zurich Open title would return a cool £375 if the lefty does indeed prevail.
Elsewhere in the betting for the PGA Tour event, Englishman Justin Rose and American duo Steve Stricker and Keegan Bradley are pegged as 20/1 joint third favourites.
Webb Simpson and Jason Dufner come next at 22/1 and 25/1 respectively, with Graeme McDowell – still searching for his first tournament win of 2012 – rated as a 33/1 shot.
