The black and gold boys at bwin.com have been busy compiling 131 markets for next weekend’s Belgian Grand Prix, with numerous prices about the challengers at Spa-Francorchamps the best available anywhere.
With that in mind, we’ve picked out our three top-price bets to be on in Stavelot.
Lewis Hamilton to win @ 11/13
The superstar Brit has only just come down to a backable price after taking only his home Grand Prix over the last six races, having won four in a row directly before.
As always, if everything goes off without a hitch then Hamilton will win, as he’s arguably the best driver in certainly the best car, and while the 29-year-old’s luck has not been in for a while he has still driven brilliantly, defying back-row grid placings twice to make podiums in recent weeks.
It feels like a matter of time before the 2008 champion goes on another winning streak, so these odds could be as good as it gets for a while.
Valtteri Bottas to win first practice @ 16/1
We know the Williams cars have massive power – they use practically the same engines as the Mercedes – and Bottas has shown his class with three podiums over the last four Grand Prix.
Hamilton and Nico Rosberg look to have cornered this market at 15/13 and 13/10, but in a topsy-turvy F1 season 16/1 seems big on a car that’s possibly as quick, with a driver in flying form, taking the early laurels
Daniel Ricciardo podium finish @ 5/2
A case could easily be made for backing Ricciardo outright at 16/1, as the affable Australian won last time out in Hungary and a mere four Grand Prix prior to then in Canada, but five podium finishes in total over the past seven races makes this bet irresistible.
