Derek Chisora has waited over six years for a second crack at Kubrat Pulev, but we fear it will be repeat not revenge when they meet in London.

The pair first clashed in Germany in May 2016 for the European heavyweight title, with Pulev prevailing via a split decision.

However, there was no suggestion of Chisora being unlucky on that occasion, as two judges correctly had the Bulgarian as a clear victor, with the third surprisingly favouring the Briton.

The rematch is expected to follow a similar pattern and 2.37 for another points win by the Cobra is our first Derek Chisora vs Kubrat Pulev 2 prediction.

Derek Chisora Odds

Chisora goes into this contest on the back of three consecutive defeats, which have left his pro record at 32 wins and 12 losses.

However, those reversals were against quality opposition, being beaten by Oleksandr Usyk in 2020 before going down twice to Joseph Parker last year.

All of those bouts ended up going the distance and 38-year-old Del Boy insists he still feels able to compete at a high level, with retirement not on the agenda.

“I just prefer fighting,” he declared. “I wake up every morning, go training and I still have the hunger for it.

“I get these younger guys coming into the gym sparring with me and I see the fear in their eyes by the time they get to rounds three or four.

“I am still hungry, I still want to fight and cause damage to people. I want to entertain.”

Only David Haye, Dillian Whyte and Tyson Fury have managed to stop Chisora, so if the hunger is still there, his durability isn’t in doubt.

Looking at the 1.72 for this fight to go the full 12 rounds.

Kubrat Pulev Odds

Whether Chisora has the technical ability to overcome Pulev is another matter, though, even with the Bulgarian now aged 41.

The Cobra had a fine amateur career and transferred those skills to the paid ranks with 20 straight wins.

His first defeat came when challenging Wladimir Klitschko for the IBF title in November 2014 via a fifth-round knockout.

Another eight wins followed before Pulev was stopped in the ninth by Anthony Joshua in December 2020, with multiple belts on the line.

The Cobra returned to action in May with a low-key points win over Jerry Forrest in California and still harbours world title ambitions.

He commented: “Derek is a difficult opponent but we have a little bit of history. Now, a few years after my win, I feel good and better because I learn a lot of things from my fights.

“For my fight against Joshua here in London, I was not good prepared. Before, I was with Covid and I don’t say nothing in the media, but I don’t prepare good.

“Now, I am healthy, I am good and here to fight against my friend Derek.”

Age catches up with everyone eventually, but Pulev has always been a consummate professional and should have enough left in the tank for this task.

Let’s add 3.0 for him to get the nod via a unanimous decision this time to our Derek Chisora vs Kubrat Pulev 2 betting tips.
