I’m A Celebrity betting: North in pole position

Jordan North is the odds-on favourite in the I’m A Celebrity betting odds as the ITV show goes into its second week.

The Radio 1 DJ featured heavily in the first few episodes of the show and vomited due to nerves before abseiling down a cliff in the 2020 series opener.

North and former EastEnders star Shane Richie were then chosen by the public to take part in the Viper Vault challenge, which saw them locked inside vaults built into the floor of Gwrych Castle, the Welsh venue for this year’s series.

North screamed as the snakes entered the vaults, saying he was thinking of his “happy place” – Burnley’s Turf Moor ground – on the advice of his brother, who is a paratrooper.

The Lancastrian was also chosen to eat sheep’s brain, goat’s eyes and fermented catfish in a stomach-churning challenge along with Vernon Kay and Beverley Callard, before he won the maximum number of stars in the Trapped Door challenge.

He said: “I’m absolutely buzzing. Let me tell you. There’s no better feeling coming back to camp on your own and telling all your camp-mates you got 12 stars.

“Their reaction was better than what I imagined. I’m elated. I’m so happy.”

North’s ability to overcome his fears is likely to go down well with viewers as well as his camp-mates, and he can be backed at 7/10.

TV presenter Kay praised him, saying: “He’s come back with 12 stars but, most importantly of all, he came back a completely different person.”

Richie biggest rival

Richie, who is best known for his portrayal of Alfie Moon in EastEnders, is the second favourite in the I’m A Celebrity odds at 8/1.

Sir Mo Farah is arguably the most famous of the contestants and can be backed at 20/1 shot.

Russell Watson and Ruthie Henshall were late arrivals into the castle and are available at 50/1 respectively.
