Pittsburgh Penguins vs Vancouver Canucks predictions

Face-off: 1900 ET, 24/11/2021

Venue: PPG Paints Arena

Pittsburgh have been a thorn in the side of Canada’s NHL teams of late and look a solid selection to see off Vancouver at PPG Paints Arena.

The Penguins have rattled off a hat-trick of wins north of the border, showing great determination on both sides of the puck.

If they can maintain the same focus on home ice, Mike Sullivan’s side are worth sticking with at 1.78 in our Pittsburgh Penguins vs Vancouver Canucks predictions.

Pittsburgh Penguins Odds

Pittsburgh followed up a 6-0 romp in Montreal and a 2-0 win at Toronto by coming from behind to beat Winnipeg 3-1 on the road.

Tristan Jarry continued his fine run of form when making 30 saves against the Jets and appears to be relishing an extended stint as number one.

“I’m enjoying it – it’s making me better,” said Jarry. “I think as I get to play more, I’m feeling the game a lot better.”

The Penguins have benefited from having a settled side with few injury issues in recent weeks, using their speed to good effect.

Going forward, Jake Guentzel has netted in five consecutive contests, equalling his career-best streak.

Looking at the NHL odds for this contest, 1.53 for Guentzel to score over 0.5 points has obvious appeal.

Vancouver Canucks Odds

Vancouver failed to build on a 3-2 home win over Winnipeg when going down 1-0 to Chicago in front of their own fans.

The Canucks outplayed the Blackhawks for two periods but couldn’t find a way past Marc-Andre Fleury.

Brandon Hagel’s deflected effort in the third then proved decisive as Vancouver slipped to a fifth loss in six outings.

They did hit the crossbar and a post on more than one occasion but just don’t seem to be getting the rub of the green at present.

Only Arizona have scored fewer first-period goals than the Canucks, who are 9-19 down in the opening section.

Pittsburgh generally hit the ground running and are 16-10 in the same timeframe.

That makes 2.25 for the Penguins to lead after the first period worth adding to our NHL predictions and we also like 19.00 for a 3-1 home victory.
