Arena: Enterprise Center

St Louis will hope to put a patchy road trip behind them when entertaining a struggling Ottawa outfit at Enterprise Center.

The Blues have a fine home record of 19-6-2 this season, helping them to be second in the Central Division, and can inflict a sixth straight defeat on the Senators.

We’re kicking off our St Louis Blues vs Ottawa Senators predictions by taking 4.25 for the hosts to prevail by exactly three goals.

St Louis Blues Odds

St Louis came through four away fixtures at 1-2-1 following Sunday’s 3-2 overtime loss at New Jersey.

Jordan Kyrou had a goal and an assist as the Blues fought back from 2-0 down in the third period, but Dougie Hamilton denied them a second point.

“We have to get it sorted out,” declared captain Ryan O’Reilly. “We just aren’t doing it the right way right now.

“We have to get back to where we need to be. They dominated us in the first two periods.”

Getting David Perron back from illness was a boost at least, while goaltenders Ville Husso and Jordan Binnington have both been in decent form of late.

St Louis lead the league in second-period goals on 72, but that is also Ottawa’s best section with 56 strikes.

Looking at the NHL odds, we like 2.3 for both teams to score in the middle stanza.

Ottawa Senators Odds

Ottawa put up a spirited effort at Vegas on Sunday but suffered another defeat in heartbreaking fashion.

Brady Tkachuk cancelled out Jonathan Marchessault’s opener but Jack Eichel clinched a 2-1 win for the Golden Knights with just 5.2 seconds left to play.

“I didn’t dislike anyone’s game,” commented coach DJ Smith. “I thought everyone played hard. We easily could’ve gotten ourselves a win.”

Tkachuk added: “It stings. We put in such a good effort there. For that effort, nine out of 10 times you’re going to win that game.”

The Senators were also grateful for 40 saves from Anton Forsberg, though, and they remain second from bottom in the Atlantic Division.

St Louis won 5-2 in Ottawa last month and 12.5 for a repeat of that scoreline completes our Blues vs Senators predictions.
