Fulham vs Wolves prediction: Close encounter on the cards

Kick-off: 2000, 24/02/2023

Stadium: Craven Cottage

TV: Sky Sports

Fulham are flying high in sixth place in the Premier League but we’re not expecting them to enjoy an easy ride when entertaining Wolves.

Wanderers will be smarting from somehow losing to Bournemouth in a match they dominated and had previously impressed under Julen Lopetegui.

These teams drew at Molineux back in August and 23/10 for another stalemate at Craven Cottage is our first Fulham vs Wolves prediction.

Cottagers on crest of a wave

Fulham fans are in dreamland after climbing above fellow surprise package Brighton with a 1-0 victory at Amex Stadium.

Cottagers substitute Manor Solomon struck an 88th-minute decider to make it six wins from their last nine league games.

However, Albion enjoyed 65 per cent of the possession and had 21 attempts on goal, leaving Marco Silva to admit his team had been fortunate to prevail.

“Overall, it’s a great three points for us,” said the Portuguese. “Probably, I have to say Brighton deserved more from the game.

“But we have so many games that we played better than our opposition sides and in the last minutes of the game we have lost as well.

“It wasn’t our best performance, though, we didn’t perform at our best level definitely.”

Fulham’s lofty position is down to shading a number of tight tussles this term, but we’re hoping that luck runs out here.

Looking at the 11/2 for a 1-1 draw.

Last Fulham line-up: Leno, Tete, Ream, Diop, Robinson, Reed, Wilson, Pereira, Willian, Palhinha, Decordova-Reid.

Fulham will make a late call on top goalscorer Aleksandar Mitrovic, who has not featured for the club since February 11 because of a hamstring injury. Tom Cairney is still out, as is Neeskens Kebano (Achilles).

Lopetegui looking to bounce back

Wolves were left incredibly frustrated after going down 1-0 at home to Bournemouth, due to Marcus Tavernier bundling in Dominic Solanke’s 49th-minute cross with his thigh.

Wanderers had 69 per cent of the possession and 15 attempts on goal, while the Cherries netted with their only shot on target.

Lopetegui accepted: “You can win any match and lose to any team. This is football at Premier League level. We have to continue working for the next match.”

Wolves had looked to have turned the corner following back-to-back victories over Liverpool and Southampton but remain in a relegation battle.

The former Real Madrid and Spain coach added: “When I arrived here, we were at the bottom and now we are in the middle of the fight.

“It is not enough. We need 40 points, we need a lot of points. We know it is very hard to get points in this league.”

Prior to that Bournemouth blip, Wanderers had only lost to both Manchester clubs in seven top-flight fixtures, though, so we’re prepared to forgive them for one setback.

Daniel Podence has bagged three goals in his last seven league games and 7/2 for him to score Wanderers’ first goal here is added to our Fulham vs Wolves betting tips.

Last Wolves line-up: Jose Sa, Semedo, Dawson, Kilman, Bueno, Neves, Sarabia, Nunes, Moutinho, Traore, Cunha.

Wolves midfielder Mario Lemina is back from suspension. Hwang Hee-chan remains out with a hamstring injury and Boubacar Traore is back in training following a groin problem but will not be ready for the trip.
