Manchester United put in one of their best performances of the season when thrashing Europa League opponents Real Sociedad 4-0 in Turin.
The pressure is now off ahead of the second leg at Old Trafford, though, so the Red Devils may have one eye on Sunday’s Premier League trip to Chelsea.
We just feel this could be a totally different match and 17/20 for the Royals to avoid defeat is our first Man Utd vs Real Sociedad prediction.
A Look At Manchester United’s Betting Odds
Bruno Fernandes’ brace was complemented by further strikes from Marcus Rashford and Daniel James at the home of Juventus, as United all but assured their progress.
The Red Devils dominated Sociedad physically, with Scott McTominay and Fred outmuscling Real’s midfield to lay the platform for a superb success.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer claimed he will resist the temptation to make wholesale changes for the return fixture.
“We’ll rotate, definitely, but no, we’re not going to take the game lightly,” declared the United boss.
But in a season where games are continuously coming thick and fast, the Norwegian will surely have this weekend’s big clash at Stamford Bridge at the back of his mind.
United have a number of fringe players crying out for more game time, so the likes of Brandon Williams, Axel Tuanzebe, Juan Mata and Amad Traore may be called into action.
That could lead to a disjointed opening period and 6/5 for a draw at half-time takes the eye from the Man Utd vs Real Sociedad odds.
A Look At Real Sociedad’s Betting Odds
Sociedad were bitterly disappointing in the opening encounter, which had to be switched from Spain due to coronavirus issues.
A side featuring Old Trafford old boy Adnan Januzaj, former Manchester City star David Silva and ex-Arsenal defender Nacho Monreal struggled to compete with United.
“They are very high quality at a physical level, technical level,” said head coach Imanol Alguacil. “They are skilled, it’s a team of champions that we were facing.
“United are a great side, that’s what happened tonight, but we want to show our style of play at Old Trafford.”
Sociedad recovered in time to beat Alaves 4-0 on Sunday, with Alexander Isak hitting a hat-trick as they made it three straight La Liga victories.
Alguacil also has to cope with the distraction of a domestic trip to Real Madrid up next, although that isn’t until Monday night.
The feeling is that they must be capable of improving on their showing in Italy, especially now they know what to expect from the Red Devils.
Let’s go with the Royals to come out fighting and add 21/10 for them to open the scoring in the first half to our Man Utd vs Real Sociedad betting tips.
