PSG vs Juventus prediction, betting tips & odds

Kick-off: 2000, 06/09/2022

Stadium: Parc des Princes

TV: BT Sport

PSG resume their quest for a first Champions League triumph by entertaining Juventus and look in much better shape than the two-time winners.

Kylian Mbappe, Lionel Messi and Neymar have all made a bright start to the season, whereas Juve have been rocked by some key injuries.

We’re going with 2.0 for the hosts to lead at half-time and full-time for our opening PSG vs Juventus prediction.

Paris Saint-Germain Odds

PSG had a relatively quiet summer transfer window, by their own standards, but did manage to bolster some of the less sexy areas of their side.

Vitinha, Carlos Soler and Fabian Ruiz can all help to shore up the centre of midfield and Nuno Mendes adds strength in depth at left-back.

That should lay the platform for the superstar trio up front to strut their stuff, as they have already been doing in Ligue 1.

Just two points have been dropped from six outings in France’s top flight, with a whopping 24 goals scored so far.

Mbappe and Neymar both have seven apiece, while Messi has weighed in with three since scoring all of the goals in Argentina’s 5-0 rout of Estonia in June.

PSG have become infamous for self-imploding during the knockout rounds, as they did again after leading Real Madrid 2-0 on aggregate with an hour gone of the second leg last term.

However, they are reliable during the group stage and 4.2 for them to win by exactly two goals here appeals from the PSG vs Juventus odds.

Juventus Odds

Juventus have slipped down the pecking order among Europe’s elite since being runners-up in 2015 and 2017.

The Bianconeri have finished a distant fourth in Serie A for the past two seasons and have only won two of their opening five fixtures this term.

Admittedly, they are still unbeaten in Italy’s top flight, but draws with Sampdoria, Roma and Fiorentina on Saturday have already exposed their limitations.

Juve did well to finish two points above Chelsea in their pool last season but were then beaten 4-1 on aggregate by Villarreal in the round of 16.

Over the summer, defender Matthijs de Ligt was sold to Bayern Munich for £60million and Paulo Dybala left on a free transfer.

Bremer has looked a solid replacement at centre-half, but other high-profile recruits Paul Pogba and Federico Chiesa are both out injured.

Angel Di Maria will be determined to do well against his former club and Arkadiusz Milik is a nice loan signing up front.

This still looks a test that is beyond them, though, and we’re adding 4.0 for Messi to open the scoring as another PSG vs Juventus prediction.

He struck five times during last season’s group stage, including a cracker against Manchester City in the first home match.

Additional stats

Last result:

Nantes 0-3 PSG – Kylian Mbappe (2), Nuno Mendes

Fiorentina 1-1 JUVENTUS – Arkadiusz Milik
