Premier League top scorer odds: Salah hunting down Haaland

Mohamed Salah is 5/1 in bwin’s Premier League top scorer odds after his Merseyside derby double in Liverpool’s 2-0 home victory over 10-man Everton.

The Egypt international became the first Liverpool player since Peter Beardsley 32 years ago to score in Anfield’s opening four league matches.

He converted a 75th-minute penalty after a Michael Keane handball and then finished a counter-attack in added time to make it seven for the season in the top flight.

Salah’s penalty was the 15th consecutive Premier League match in which he had either scored or assisted and brought up Liverpool’s 50th goal against Everton at Anfield in the Premier League.

It was also his 200th career league goal while his second was his 104th at home for Liverpool, taking him past greats Kenny Dalglish and Steven Gerrard into fifth place on the club’s all-time Anfield scorers list.

Reds boss Jurgen Klopp said: “What I love most about Mo is that Mo Salah played for us an incredible amount of fantastic games.

“It was not his best game but being that clinical is probably his biggest quality and I love that because you need somebody who brings the ball over the line.

“I couldn’t respect that fact more. That’s absolutely outstanding. The numbers are crazy. He will never stop, that is his nature and that’s really cool for us.”

Haaland back on target for City

Erling Haaland, last season’s Golden Boot winner, is two ahead of Salah after scoring in Manchester City’s 2-1 win over Brighton at the Etihad Stadium.

The Norway international netted for the first time in three Premier League games to double City’s lead after Julian Alvarez’s opener and is the 2/7 favourite to retain his crown.

Alvarez now has four league goals this season and is priced at 25/1.

Son Heung-min has been cut to 10/1 after claiming his seventh league goal of the season in Tottenham’s 2-0 home win over Fulham on Monday.

Ollie Watkins continued his fine scoring form with a goal in Aston Villa’s 4-1 victory over West Ham at Villa Park and is 20/1.

The striker, who netted the winner for England against Australia in their friendly at Wembley during the international break, claimed his fifth goal in four games.

Alexander Isak is also 20/1 after failing to score for the first time in four league games in Newcastle’s 4-0 victory over Crystal Palace at St James’ Park.

The Sweden international, who has four goals in as many matches and six in the league this term, came on for the last 20 minutes with the Magpies already four goals ahead.

West Ham forward Jarrod Bowen is 50/1 after scoring his sixth league goal this term in his side’s loss at Villa.
