Stadium: Estadio do Dragao

Juventus will be determined to exorcise the demons of last season’s surprise Champions League loss to Lyon in the round of 16 when taking on Porto.

The Bianconeri impressed on the road during the group stage this term and are fancied to prove a class apart at Estadio do Dragao.

Punters can get 10/11 for an away win in the opening leg of this tie and that is our first Porto vs Juventus prediction.

A Look At Porto’s Betting Odds

Porto comfortably progressed as runners-up from Group C thanks to four convincing victories versus Olympiacos and Marseille.

Sergio Conceicao’s side netted nine times in those matches and didn’t concede once, so they are clearly no mugs.

However, the Dragons were beaten 3-1 by table toppers Manchester City at Etihad Stadium and could only manage a goalless draw against a weakened outfit in the return fixture.

Sergio Oliveira has been banging in plenty of goals from midfield, while Mehdi Taremi and Moussa Marega remain powerful performers up front.

The feeling is, though, that Porto lack the overall quality to break down a fully-focused Juve defence.

Three straight domestic draws in Portugal’s top flight have left them toiling behind Sporting Lisbon in the title race to back up that view.

Looking at the Porto vs Juventus odds, we like 2/1 for an away win to nil.

A Look At Juventus’ Betting Odds

Juventus were beaten 1-0 away to Lyon 12 months ago and went out on the away goals rule following a 2-1 victory in Turin.

They look in no mood to suffer a similar fate this term, though, having romped to a 3-0 triumph at Barcelona on Matchday 6 to snatch top spot in Group G.

Cristiano Ronaldo had been sidelined when the Bianconeri earlier lost 2-0 to the Catalan giants in Italy.

However, he made up for missing that game by hitting a penalty double at Camp Nou, either side of Weston McKennie’s strike.

Juve took maximum points off Dynamo Kyiv and Ferencvaros, prevailing 2-0 in the Ukraine and 4-1 in Hungary.

Alvaro Morata has been rejuvenated by a return to Turin and scored four of those goals, as well as netting in both home games versus the same teams.

Andrea Pirlo has had to contend with some uncharacteristic lapses of concentration in Serie A this season, but getting up for European matches is never an issue.

Let’s add 3/1 for an away win by 1-0 or 2-0 to our Porto vs Juventus betting tips, as the visitors seek to justify being 10/1 fourth favourites in the outright betting.

Ronaldo is an obvious pick from the first scorer market, as he returns to his native Portugal with fond memories of facing Porto.

CR7 struck the only goal of the game when Manchester United beat the Dragons in the quarter-finals here a dozen years ago after a 2-2 draw at Old Trafford.
