Having not played for Manchester United since the end of September, the latest Paul Pogba transfer news and rumours suggest a move to Real Madrid may be imminent.
The 26-year-old was first sidelined due to an ankle injury that has restricted him to just six appearances for the Red Devils this season.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has spoken confidently about a return to action before the end of the year, only for the France World Cup winner to be struck down by illness.
“Of all things, he’s struck down ill now,” reported the United manager. “He’s been off for two or three days, so that’s not beneficial. That’s probably set him back quite a bit.”
Solskjaer added: “As I’ve said so many times, Paul’s a top, top player that we want to see playing his best football at Man United.
“We just need to get him fit and match fit. It might be half an hour, 45, 60, 90 – who knows, the first game. We’re working hard to get him back but now he’s ill.
“He has that quality that not many midfielders in the world have, so to get him back would be great.”
However, Solskjaer’s comments came just hours before videos were posted on social media, with Pogba dancing and showing few ill effects at his brother Florentin’s wedding.
If United do decide to cash in on Pogba sooner, rather than later, they have some interesting options regarding where to re-invest that money.
