Norwich vs West Brom: Baggies can shoot down Canaries

Kick-off: 1500, 11/08/2018

Stadium: Carrow Road

West Brom have had a challenging start to life back in the Championship but are fancied to show their true worth at Norwich.

Picking up just one point from their two opening games wasn’t in the script, but Albion remain among the favourites for a quick return to the Premier League.

The Baggies are 9/5 to justify that faith with a win at Carrow Road and that is our first Norwich vs West Brom prediction.

A Look At Norwich City’s Betting Odds

Norwich could only manage a mid-table berth in this division last term and have since lost James Maddison to Leicester and Josh Murphy to Cardiff.

The Canaries showed plenty of character to open with a 2-2 draw at Birmingham, thanks to an Onel Hernandez brace, including a stoppage-time strike.

Manager Daniel Farke felt his side deserved a point after creating some good chances at St Andrew’s, but his mind was still on those missing star men.

“It is difficult to replace an outstanding player like Maddison, who scored 15 goals and had 15 assists,” said the German.

“Murphy was our second-highest goalscorer, so others in the group now have to improve to replace players of this quality.”

Some may step up to the plate as the season progresses, but we feel Norwich are vulnerable for now.

Looking at the 15/4 for an away win and over 2.5 goals in the game.

A Look At West Bromwich Albion’s Betting Odds

West Brom ruined a whole host of accas when beaten at home by Bolton, but Tuesday’s 1-1 draw at big-spending Nottingham Forest should have steadied the ship.

Matt Phillips fired in an 87th-minute equaliser and the Baggies could even have snatched a last-gasp winner.

Substitute Dwight Gayle, who came on for his debut after joining on loan from Newcastle on Monday, twice hit the woodwork in the closing stages.

Manager Darren Moore said: “You are always pleased to get off the mark. We near-enough executed the game plan, which is what we wanted to do.

“This will be a difficult place for teams to come and I am really pleased with the way the players acquitted themselves.”

We expect Albion to build on that encouraging effort and are adding 10/1 for them to prevail 2-1 to our Norwich vs West Brom betting tips.

Don’t forget this is a club which earned wins over Manchester United and Tottenham late on last season, as well as drawing with Liverpool.
