Napoli vs Juventus prediction, odds & betting tips

Kick-off: 1945, 13/01/2023

Stadium: Diego Armando Maradona Stadium

TV: BT Sport

Napoli are fancied to come through another stiff test of their Serie A title credentials by edging out Juventus on home turf on Friday night.

The visitors have fought their way up to second in the table but have lost on their last three trips to Diego Armando Maradona Stadium.

We’re sticking with Gli Azzurri to prevail again at 19/20 for our first Napoli vs Juventus prediction.

Napoli Odds

Napoli struggled for rhythm when travelling to face Inter Milan on their return after the seven-week World Cup and festive break.

Edin Dzeko’s 56th-minute bullet header ended their 11-match domestic winning streak and handed them a first Serie A defeat of the season.

However, Gli Azzurri did finish that match strongly, laying siege to the Inter goal in the dying stages, with substitute Giacomo Raspadori seeing a late low effort saved by Andre Onana.

Those encouraging signs were confirmed in Sunday’s 2-0 triumph over Sampdoria at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris.

Sampdoria keeper Emil Audero saved a Matteo Politano penalty, but Victor Osimhen gave Napoli the lead with a 20th-minute strike.

The hosts were reduced to 10 men towards the end of the first half when Tomas Rincon was dismissed for a foul on Osimhen, before a late Eljif Elmas spot-kick doubled the advantage.

That result should have settled any slight jitters and got Luciano Spalletti’s side back up to full speed.

Osimhen would be an obvious pick to strike first at Napoli vs Juventus odds.

Politano will be keen to make amends for his spot-kick miss and did score in this fixture last term, so he appeals at 15/2 to break the deadlock.

Juventus Odds

Of course, Juventus warrant plenty of respect after rattling off eight straight Serie A wins without conceding a single goal.

A 2-0 success versus Inter and a 3-0 drubbing of Lazio stand out before the Qatar 2022 break, although both were at home.

When Italy’s top flight resumed, the Bianconeri left it late to claim victory at Cremonese, with Arkadiusz Milik rifling home the only goal of the game from a stoppage time free-kick.

Cremonese, still without a win this season, had an early strike from Emanuele Valeri disallowed by VAR, while Cyriel Dessers hit the post in the second half.

Massimiliano Allegri’s side then shaded Udinese by the same scoreline, with Danilo doing the damage in the 86th minute.

Juve have clearly improved since their early-season struggles, but we still can’t forget a poor Champions League campaign.

They managed just three points against Maccabi Haifa in Turin when finishing well adrift of Benfica and PSG in Group H.

Let’s add 13/5 for a home victory by one goal to our Napoli vs Juventus betting tips, as has been the case in this fixture for the past three seasons.
