Manchester City start their Premier League title defence at a ground that has not treated them well so far.
Pep Guardiola’s side have lost on all three visits to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium without even scoring a goal.
But we reckon that will change this time around and an away win with both teams scoring at 21/10 is our first Tottenham vs Man City prediction.
A Look At Tottenham Hotspur’s Betting Odds
Tottenham will head into the season under new management after Nuno Espirito Santo succeeded Jose Mourinho and the former Wolves boss is expected to adapt an attacking approach.
Argentina defender Cristian Romero, former Atalanta team-mate Pierluigi Gollini and Sevilla winger Bryan Gil have been signed.
Romero helped his country win the Copa America this summer and becomes the club’s second most expensive player after joining in a deal worth up to €55million.
Even bigger business could be still to happen, though, with Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez rumoured to be on the way, possibly as a replacement for Harry Kane.
England captain Kane is a target for this weekend’s opponents and was late returning to training, while Tanguy Ndombele has not been involved in pre-season.
Nuno says talks will be held with Kane to determine the way forward, stating: “We have to solve it together.
“Everybody involved has to solve it together, speaking, having a nice conversation and putting our opinions. Everybody together.”
Tottenham will be boosted by their results on home soil against City, both domestically and in Europe.
After winning 1-0 in the Champions League in April 2019, Spurs have beaten City 2-0 in the Premier League over the last two seasons, with Son Heung-min scoring in all three.
Nuno will want his side to make a fast start but the hosts to be leading at half-time and then lose is a tempting 20/1 in the Tottenham vs Man City odds.
A Look At Manchester City’s Betting Odds
City, still smarting from defeat to Chelsea in the Champions League final in May, will be looking to successfully defend their league title for a second time under Guardiola and are the Premier League title favourites.
Sergio Aguero has moved on to Barcelona but the £100m capture of Jack Grealish from Aston Villa was a statement of intent.
A weakened City team was narrowly beaten by Leicester in the Community Shield and Guardiola does not expect to have anything like a full-strength side again here.
“It happened last season, we arrived late,” said the Spaniard. “That’s why I guess at the beginning of the season we will try to get results without being at our best.”
However, City travelled well last season, winning 12 consecutive league games on the road before a defeat at Brighton in their penultimate match of the campaign.
They have won their last two meetings with Spurs, including the Carabao Cup final at Wembley in April.
Another victory is likely and a 3-1 scoreline at 11/1 is our final Tottenham vs Man City prediction.
Leicester 2-4 TOTTENHAM – Kane, Schmeichel (og), Bale (2)
Leicester 1-0 MAN CITY
Head-to-head: Man City 1-0 Tottenham, Man City 3-0 Tottenham, Tottenham 2-0 Man City, Tottenham 2-0 Man City, Man City 2-2 Tottenham
