Liverpool can close to within just one point of Premier League leaders Manchester City if beating Southampton at St Mary’s Stadium.

The Reds are still chasing a historic quadruple and victory here would set up a tense final day of the domestic season next weekend.

Saints have been struggling of late, so 1.98 for an away win by more than one clear goal is our first Southampton vs Liverpool prediction.

Southampton Odds

Southampton have slipped to 15th in the table after picking up just one point from their last four games and securing a solitary success in 10 outings.

Saints are not in danger of being relegated but the end of the season can’t come quick enough after a 3-0 drubbing at Brentford last time out.

Ralph Hasenhuttl’s men were 2-0 down inside 15 minutes and went on to suffer a seventh loss in 10 league matches.

Admittedly, Saints have done well against big clubs this term, drawing twice with City, beating Arsenal here last month and also taking home points off Manchester United and Tottenham.

“We have shown against the top teams that we can achieve something very big – and this is what we will need on Tuesday evening,” said Hasenhuttl.

“The players know what team we are facing, they know how tough it is, they know on what run of form they are.

“But it’s our Champions League final, if you want – and we are going for this with everything we have and the team will do everything to make the fans proud.”

Southampton do have nothing to lose, so it will be disappointing if they don’t at least give it a go in front of their own supporters.

That makes Southampton vs Liverpool odds.

Last Saints line-up: Forster, Walker-Peters, Perraud, Salisu, Bednarek, Ward-Prowse, Redmond, S Armstrong, Diallo, A Armstrong, Broja.

Liverpool Odds

Liverpool must quickly recover from Saturday evening’s gruelling penalty shootout triumph over Chelsea in the FA Cup final.

That was a repeat of February’s Carabao Cup win, while the Reds have booked a date with Real Madrid in the Champions League decider.

James Milner said: “We just need to take it a game at a time like we have done all year.

“We have three games left. We will try and win them and see where that takes us.

“We know the title is in City’s hands. They’re in a good position and they’re a relentless, very good team.

“But for us to have two trophies in the cabinet and to still have a glimmer of hope in the other two, it’s been a special season no matter what.”

An injury to Mohamed Salah is worrying and Milner did admit of the Wembley win: “You could see the fatigue out there, a couple of niggles as well.”

However, Jurgen Klopp can shuffle his pack to freshen things up and being so close to the finish line should spur Liverpool on.

Diogo Jota bagged a brace when Saints were beaten 4-0 at Anfield in November and 4.5 for him to net first here completes our Southampton vs Liverpool betting tips.

Last Liverpool line-up: Alisson, Van Dijk, Konate, Robertson, Alexander-Arnold, Thiago, Keita, Henderson, Mane, Salah, Diaz.
