Leeds vs Wolves prediction, betting tips & odds

Kick-off: 1500, 06/08/2022

Stadium: Elland Road

Leeds will be desperate for a positive start to the Premier League season this time around when entertaining Wolves at Elland Road.

The Whites needed seven attempts to get off the mark last term and, after sacking Marcelo Bielsa, only avoided relegation on the final day.

They are unbeaten in their last two games against Bruno Lage’s visitors, though, and a home win at 2.3 is our first Leeds vs Wolves prediction.

Leeds United Odds

It will be somewhat of a new era when Leeds take to the field under Jesse Marsch following an interesting summer transfer window.

The American could only focus on securing results rather than stamping his style on the side after Bielsa departed with the club in relegation trouble.

A 2-1 win at Brentford on the final day retained their top-flight status and now Marsch has a full pre-season to get his ideas across to a squad which has faced some upheaval over the off-season.

Bielsa’s options were limited due to his preference to work with a small squad, but Marsch has addressed that with several strong arrivals.

USA striker Brenden Aaronson and Denmark right-back Rasmus Kristensen were signed from Marsch’s former club RB Salzburg for around £24.7million and £10m respectively.

Former Spain Under-21 international Marc Roca has joined on a four-year deal from Bayern Munich, with the 25-year-old reported to have cost £10.4m.

Feyenoord winger Luis Sinisterra is another to have arrived on a long-term contract, while RB Leipzig and USA midfielder Tyler Adams previously worked with Marsch at New York Red Bulls.

Of course, Kalvin Phillips and Raphinha will be sorely missed, plus Stuart Dallas and Luke Ayling are injured, but the Whites look in a decent position.

Home advantage could be vital in helping the new arrivals settle in and a 2-1 win for United is 9.25 in the Leeds vs Wolves odds.

Wolverhampton Wanderers Odds

Lage had a huge impact at Wolves during the first half of last season, guiding them into Champions League contention.

But a dismal run of form from February onwards, when they lost 10 of their last 17 games, saw them finish 10th.

Speculation continues to surround midfielder Ruben Neves’ future, while defender Romain Saiss has departed for Besiktas, but winger Adama Traore will return after failing to land a permanent deal at Barcelona.

Burnley defender Nathan Collins was bought for £20.5m and Hwang Hee-chan has stayed on after impressing on loan from RB Leipzig last term.

With the way they ended last term, though, Wolves fans may be getting twitchy.

One thing is for sure, Wanderers will be hoping to avoid any more late drama against Leeds.

Rodrigo netted a last-minute penalty to secure a 1-1 draw at Elland Road before Leeds came from 2-0 down to win 3-2 at Molineux courtesy of Ayling’s strike at the death.

The hosts to score last again at 1.85 completes our Leeds vs Wolves betting tips.
