Aston Villa suffered an FA Cup upset versus Stevenage last Sunday but their recent Premier League form is good enough to see off Leeds.

Unai Emery has given the Midlands outfit fresh impetus and we’d back him to outwit Whites boss Jesse Marsch any day of the week.

Punters can get 93/100 for a home win here and that is our first Aston Villa vs Leeds prediction.

Aston Villa Odds

Emery didn’t hide his disappointment after Villa’s late meltdown in a 2-1 loss to League Two side Stevenage.

Leander Dendoncker was sent off after giving away an 85th-minute penalty, which Jamie Reid converted before Dean Campbell fired in a decider soon after.

“I’m upset, disappointed and sorry for our supporters,” said Emery. “We have lost a very good opportunity to do something in the FA Cup.

“I’m very shocked, but it can happen when you have good chances to score but don’t take them.

“It is a process. In other matches, we have not been clinical. We have to improve, we have to learn, we have to try and find a solution.”

However, Villa have been going along nicely in terms of Premier League results, with four wins and a draw from seven top-flight fixtures.

Given that their defeats were against high-flying Newcastle and Liverpool, that is a very good return.

Danny Ings has done his bit up front with five goals during that time and seems well suited to coming off the bench as an impact player.

Looking at the 3/1 for Ings to score last.

Last Villa EPL line-up: Martinez, Cash, Konsa, Mings, Young, Digne, Douglas Luiz, Buendia, Kamara, Watkins, Bailey.

Villa are waiting to receive clearance for Alex Moreno after the full-back’s arrival from Real Betis. Midfielder John McGinn and defender Diego Carlos are out, while Dendoncker is banned following his red card.

Leeds United Odds

Leeds were on the right end of some late drama when drawing 2-2 at Cardiff in the cup, with Sonny Perkins equalising in stoppage time.

That was a first professional goal for the England Under-19 international, who joined from West Ham over the summer.

“We were really excited to have the opportunity to bring him to the club,” said Whites boss Marsch.

“We tried to include him a lot with the first team and push his development. I think he’s developed incredibly well.”

Austria midfielder Max Wober also caught the eye when coming off the bench following a £10million switch from RB Salzburg.

Leeds have drawn their last two Premier League matches against Newcastle and West Ham and are always up for a scrap.

We just feel Villa have a clear edge in quality at the moment, though, as well as home advantage.

Let’s add 25/2 for a 3-1 correct score.

Last Leeds EPL line-up: Meslier, Ayling, Koch, Cooper, Struijk, Aaronson, Roca, Summerville, Adams, Rodrigo, Gnonto.

Leeds will be without Crysencio Summerville for a month due to an ankle injury, joining fellow forward Luis Sinisterra (foot) and midfielder Stuart Dallas in the treatment room.

Striker Patrick Bamford (groin) is expected to return, while left-back Wober could make his first start.
