Never before in the history of Serie A have the Milan giants taken just one point each after two league games, and in-form Udinese can pile more misery on AC Milan by avoiding defeat at the San Siro on Wednesday.
Milan, who are priced at 39/50 to register their first win of the campaign, don’t appear to be in the same state of disarray as rivals Inter, but have nevertheless made a poor start and the 3/2 on Udinese with a goal start on the handicap is must-bet material, as Udinese can win or draw for the bet to come in.
The Rossoneri have started the season looking anything like reigning champions, conceding five goals and taking just one point from their two games so far – an opening day 2-2 draw at home to Lazio and Saturday’s 3-1 defeat to a Edinson Cavani-inspired Napoli.
A 2-2 draw against Barcelona in the Nou Camp in the Champions League has been the highlight of a campaign that has so far been as notable for injuries as it has results – against Napoli on Saturday manager Massimiliano Allegri was without Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Robinho, Kevin-Prince Boateng, Philippe Mexes, Massimo Ambrosini and Gennaro Gattuso.
In contrast, Udinese have won both their matches by the same scoreline, triumphing 2-0 at Lecce in their first match and repeating the trick against Fiorentina at the weekend. The Little Zebras, unlucky not to have knocked Arsenal out of the Champions League qualifiers, are coping well after selling star asset Alexis Sanchez to Barcelona in the summer and shouldn’t fear a trip to Milan, where in January they secured an incredible 4-4 draw.
That result helped Udinese to the third best away record in the division, scoring a divisional high of 38 goals on the way, which makes both the draw (12/5) and away win (15/4) tempting given the nature of Milan’s start, but 3/2 on Udinese to avoid defeat is tasty enough.
Each of Milan’s games so far have featured four goals, so the 4/5 on over 2.5 goals and 37/20 on over 3.5 goals could be worth small plays given the way Milan are defending and Udinese’s gung-ho approach.
