Inter Milan (17th) v Cagliari (10th)
Home: 1/2 Draw: 57/20 Away: 117/20
Betting tip: The Nerazzurri are currently sitting just five points from the bottom of the Serie A table and Claudio Ranieri is under intense pressure to turn their season around. They host a Cagliari side who have not won in their last five league games and have lost the last four meetings between the two sides. Inter’s defence should be in for a quiet weekend here as Cagliari have found the back of the net only once in their last five games. Odds on Ranieri’s side keeping a clean sheet are at evens and even more tempting is 6/5 for Inter to win the first and second half here.
Fiorentina (13th) v AC Milan (3th)
Home: 47/20 Draw: 9/4 Away: 23/20
Betting tip: Viola entertain the Rossoneri this weekend in a clash that Fiorentina have not won since November 2005. Milan arrive having won their last five league games and the last seven meetings between the two sides. Milan have averaged two goals a game on their travels and Swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has scored the opening goal in their last two matches. Odds of 6/5 on him opening the scoring for a third time on the trot are worth consideration, as are those of 23/20 on an away win.
Napoli (6th) v Lazio (2nd)
Home: 11/10 Draw: 9/4 Away: 49/20
Betting tip: Napoli will be looking to bounce back from defeat in their least Serie A outing when they host the Biancocelesti this weekend. Lazio have kept clean sheets in their last three games in all competitions and are unbeaten on the road in the league having won four and drawn one. Expect this one to be a closely fought encounter, making odds of 5/1 on a 1-1 draw very hard to ignore.
Sunday, 20th November
Bologna (16th) v Cesena (20th)
Home: 93/100 Draw: 9/4 Away: 61/20
Betting tip: Winless Cesena travel to Bologna desperate for points as they are in danger of getting cut-off from the rest of the league even at this early stage. Pierpaolo Bisoli’s side won their last home game 3-1 against Atalanta and although that was their first victory on home soil this campaign, they will fancy their chances of another maximum here. Cesena have only scored three goals all season and those have been at home. With a home win a sure-fire thing, in the multiple correct score market back Bologna to win either 1-0, 2-0 or 3-0 at 2/1.
Catania (8th) v Chievo (14th)
Home: 17/20 Draw: 23/10 Away: 17/5
Betting tip: Catania return to the comforts of the Stadio Angelo Massimino this weekend following a 4-0 drubbing at the San Siro in their last league game at the hands of Milan. Catania are currently unbeaten at home and welcome Chievo on Sunday who have not won in six league games. Chievo have only scored two goals in the first half – their first two strikes of the season. With this in mind bet on Catania/Catania in the half time/full time market at 37/20.
Genoa (12th) v Novara (19th)
Home: 11/20 Draw: 11/4 Away: 21/4
Betting tip: Genoa’s unbeaten home run is unlikely to be tested when newcomers Novara visit the Stadio Luigi Ferraris on Sunday. Novara’s five away game have averaged three goals a game with the home side scoring on average two a game against them. With that in mind I suggest backing a 2-1 home win 7/1.
Juventus (4th) v Palermo (5th)
Home: 47/100 Draw: 29/10 Away: 32/5
Betting tip: This could be the clash of the weekend in Serie A as two of the early form sides meet at Juventus Stadium. While Palermo are currently sitting in fifth place they are yet to win on the road, losing four of their five away games so far this season. Juve are the only unbeaten side in the league and have won their last two games 2-1 against Fiorentina and Inter. Interestingly Palermo have won the last four meetings between the sides but I can’t see them picking up three points on this occasion. I fancy Antonio Conte’s side to come out on top of a close game and odds of the game being level at the half and Juve winning the game at 16/5 are very tempting.
Parma (15th) v Udinese (1st)
Home: 2/1 Draw: 41/20 Away: 29/20
Betting tip: Parma could be in for a tough challenge this weekend as they aim to keep out Serie A top scorer Antonio Di Natale, who has registered four of Udinese’s last six league goals. While Udinese have been perfect at home they have only won once on their travels, which was on the opening day of the season, and Parma may fancy their chances of getting something here. Parma won both match-ups last season and I see an even contest on the cards at the Ennio Tardini. Di Natale is 9/2 for the first goal and the draw is at 41/20.
Siena (9th) v Atalanta (11th)
Home: 23/20 Draw: 11/5 Away: 12/5
Betting tip: Siena have won their last three games at home and only conceded one goal in the process and will present a stern test for Atalanta who have picked up seven points on the road this season. German Denis has netted Atalanta’s last three goals and is 9/5 to score at any point in the match. Atalanta won the last two meetings between the two 2-0 and are at 29/2 to win by the same scoreline this weekend.
Roma (7th) v Lecce (18th)
Home: 7/20 Draw: 7/2 Away: 33/4
Betting tip: Lecce have enjoyed their away days this season having picked up seven of their eight points on the road. Roma have won three of their last four games but did suffer defeat in their last home game, losing 3-2 to Milan. Luis Enrique’s side have enjoyed this fixture in recent times having won the last five meetings. Odds of Roma winning the game and there being over 3.5 goals scored are at 9/4, which are hard to ignore given both sides look to be competitive.
