This weekend sees all the fixtures taking place on Saturday. It sees the Glasgow giants face off with the teams from the capital, with Rangers travelling to play Hibernian and Celtic hosting Hearts.
Saturday, 10th December
Hibernian v Rangers (12:30pm)
Home win: 23/4 Draw: 29/10 Away win: 12/25
Key Stat: Hibernian have won one game at home all season.
Betting Tip: Rangers have beaten Hibs in seven out of the last ten meetings. In their last five wins they also managed to keep a clean sheet, so I fancy them to do it again at 13/10.
Celtic v Hearts (3pm)
Home win: 7/25 Draw:4/1 Away win: 9/1
Key Stat: Hearts have won just one game in the last six which has seen them slip down to fifth place.
Betting Tip: I don’t expect anything other than a home win, and the odds reflect this. So I’d look into the number of goals Celtic will score. They have bagged 35 goals this season with 18 of them in the first half and 17 after half time, so for the Hoops to score an equal amount of goals in each half stands out to me at 21/10.
Dunfermline v Kilmarnock (3pm)
Home win: 21/10 Draw: 11/5 Away win: 5/4
Key Stat: Dunfermline are currently bottom of the form table having picked up four points from the last six games.
Betting tip: An interesting bet that stands out to me is Kilmarnock to be winning at half time but for the game to be a draw at full time at 25/2. The away side score the majority of their goals in the first half and the home side tend to score more goals in the second half. Dunfermline have poor form but played well in their last two defeats against Rangers and Celtic where they got beaten 2-1.
Aberdeen v St Mirren (3pm)
Home win: 23/20 Draw: 21/10 Away win: 12/5
Key Stat: St Mirren have the worst attack in the league, having only scored 15 goals.
Betting tip: With St Mirren struggling for goals, and although Aberdeen are languishing at the bottom of the SPL, I think they could win 2-0 at 17/2. The Dons have scored two goals in half of their home games this season.
Inverness Caledonian Thistle v Dundee United (3pm)
Home win: 7/4 Draw: 9/4 Away win: 29/20
Key Stat: Only Dunfermline have conceded more goals than Inverness Caledonian Thistle’s 33.
Betting tip: Dundee United are currently three points better off than the hosts and are one place higher. Their form is similar going into this game and that is why I expect a close encounter and I’m backing a draw at 9/4.
St Johnstone v Motherwell (3pm)
Home win: 3/2 Draw: 21/10 Away win: 9/5
Key Stat: The last two meetings between the sides have finished 3-0, with each team winning one game.
Betting tip: Looking at the head to head record, on average the last ten meetings have seen three goals a game. Therefore, it makes sense to back over 2.5 goals at 5/4. Both sides are doing well this season, with Motherwell in third place and St Johnstone in fourth place. They have also both scored 20 goals so far this year.
