With an international break, and with one game called off due to fog the week before, fans are eager for a return to SPL action. This Saturday therefore promises to be a cracker given all 12 sides are in action.
Saturday, 19th November
Inverness v Celtic (12.30pm)
Home win: 6/1 Draw: 7/2 Away win: 2/5
Key stat: Inverness’ last clean sheet came back in May, 17 matches ago.
Betting tip: Given Inverness’ defensive record and the fact that their last match had nine goals – when they ended up 6-3 winners against Kilmarnock – a bet on five goals or more in this one make a lot of sense and is available at odds of 31/10. Similarly, a bet on both sides to grab a goal is priced at 18/25.
Dundee United v Hearts (3.00pm)
Home win: 29/20 Draw: 21/10 Away win: 37/20
Key stat: Hearts haven’t scored in three matches.
Betting tip: Given Hearts’ recent troubles up front and the fact that Dundee United managed a clean sheet when they beat Hearts in the capital at the start of the season, a clean sheet for the home side is very possible, and available at 39/20.
Aberdeen v Motherwell (3.00pm)
Home win: 3/2 Draw: 21/10 Away win: 9/5
Key stat: Motherwell have beaten old boss Craig Brown in all three of their meetings since he controversially left for Aberdeen last December.
Betting tip: Another win for third-placed Motherwell against Brown seems inevitable. Two of those previous wins were 2-1 victories and a bet on the same scoreline could prove superb value at 19/2.
Rangers v St Johnstone (3.00pm)
Home win: 7/25 Draw: 4/1 Away win: 9/1
Key stat: St Johnstone have conceded the second-fewest number of away goals in the SPL.
Betting tip: Despite that admirable record, a Rangers win is almost a certainty. But this could be a lot closer than many expect. Bet on under 2.5 goals at 6/5, or on under 1.5 goals at 333/100.
Hibernian v Kilmarnock (3.00pm)
Home win: 13/10 Draw: 9/4 Away win: 39/20
Key stat: The last two meetings between these sides at Easter Road have been 2-1 wins for Hibs.
Betting tip: A bet on caretaker boss Billy Brown to make it another 2-1 Hibs win on Saturday against his former club is given odds of 31/4.
St Mirren v Dunfermline (3.00pm)
Home win: 7/10 Draw: 5/2 Away win: 15/4
Key stat: St Mirren have two consecutive clean sheets and play a Dunfermline side that have scored just three times in their last six games.
Betting tip: A punt on a third consecutive St Mirren clean sheet is priced at 27/20. And given that their last four wins have been to nil, a bet on St Mirren to win to nil once more, at 9/5, looks a good shout too.
