It’s Old Firm weekend in Glasgow. But before the big match this Sunday, there are five more important games on Saturday as we approach the business end of the season.

Saturday, March 24th
Dunfermline v St Mirren (3.00pm)
Home win: 21/10 Draw: 21/10 Away win: 13/10
Key stat: Dunfermline have yet to win a home SPL game.
Betting tip: With new manager Jim Jefferies taking over at Dunfermline, the Pars’ first home win of the league season should come sooner rather than later. Against a St Mirren side that lost 3-0 at home last week and hasn’t won in the SPL in ten games, back them to finally break the jinx today at 21/10. A home win to nil, at 15/4, is another option given that the Saints have scored just once in six league matches.
Aberdeen v Inverness (3.00pm)
Home win: 11/10 Draw: 21/10 Away win: 13/5
Key stat: Five out of six of Aberdeen’s last home matches have been drawn.
Betting tip: A bet on another share of the spoils at Pittodrie makes sense. Three of those draws have been 0-0 and another scoreless game is priced at 25/4. The other two most recent home draws for the Dons were 1-1, which has odds of 19/4 to be repeated on Saturday.
Kilmarnock v Motherwell (3.00pm)
Home win: 39/20 Draw: 21/10 Away win: 7/5
Key stat: Both meetings between these two this season have ended goalless.
Betting tip: Last week’s League Cup heroes Kilmarnock picked up their winners’ medals thanks to a goal deep into extra-time. While this match-up may swing either way later on in the game, expect another goalless first half, priced at 33/20.
Hibernian v Dundee United (3.00pm)
Home win: 12/5 Draw: 9/4 Away win: 11/10
Key stat: Hibs have failed to score in their last three home games.
Betting tip: Meanwhile, United have conceded only twice in six league games, making a bet on a United clean sheet against low-scoring Hibs attractive at odds of 9/5.
St Johnstone v Hearts (3.00pm)
Home win: 13/10 Draw: 2/1 Away win: 11/5
Key stat: The recent Scottish Cup tie between these clubs ended 1-1 in the first game and 1-1 in the 90 minutes of the replay.
Betting tip: These two will know each other well, then, having played twice in the cup recently. Both games ended 1-1, needing extra-time to send Hearts through in the replay. A bet on another 1-1 scoreline seems reasonable and the odds are 19/4 on that to happen.
Sunday, March 25th
Rangers v Celtic (1.00pm)
Home win: 14/5 Draw: 23/10 Away: 19/20
Key stat: Rangers have lost three home games in a row, scoring just once.
Betting tip: The Gers will hope to avoid a record-breaking four Ibrox losses in a row, especially given that an away win could seal the title for Celtic if Motherwell fail to beat Kilmarnock on Saturday. Unfortunately for Ally McCoist’s men, with Celtic keen to make up for a cup final defeat, they should be strong enough and are priced at 11/5 to triumph to nil.
