The league may be won, but there are still six games to make money on this weekend, starting with Ross County v Dundee United on Friday night. St Johnstone visit Inverness the next day and Aberdeen host Kilmarnock, while Hearts make the trip to Dundee and St Mirren travel to Hibernian. Motherwell then welcome newly crowned champions Celtic on Sunday.
You’ll find all six SPL games covered below and new customers can register here for up to £20 in free bets with their first deposit.
Friday, April 26th
Ross County v Dundee United (7.30pm)
Home win: 23/17 Draw: 11/5 Away win: 7/4
Key stat: Three of the last five meetings between these sides have ended 0-0.
Betting tip: This could well be a Friday night game to forget and if we do indeed see another goalless match, then you’ll want to have backed the 33/4 odds and at least made some money for the weekend.
Saturday, April 27th
St Johnstone v Inverness (12.00pm)
Home win: 5/4 Draw: 11/5 Away win: 19/10
Key stat: In the last five matches between these sides there have only been three goals.
Betting tip: If Friday night’s game had the makings of a borefest, then this one certainly does too, unfortunately. That said, backing there to be under 1.5 goals in the game could earn you a nice win at 13/5.
Aberdeen v Kilmarnock (3.00pm)
Home win: 9/10 Draw: 23/10 Away win: 27/10
Key stat: Aberdeen have conceded just once in six home games.
Betting tip: An impressive defence, especially at home, makes Aberdeen the favourites for this one. Backing the home side to earn yet another Pittodrie clean sheet could be a smart move and is priced at 16/11.
Dundee v Hearts (3.00pm)
Home win: 11/5 Draw: 11/5 Away win: 11/10
Key stat: Dundee could have been relegated last week but got an 87th-minute goal to keep them alive for another week.
Betting tip: Dundee are hanging on for SPL survival and could be relegated at the end of this game. “Must-win” is the appropriate term and the Fife side have been doing just that in the last two weeks with two 2-1 victories. Having already beaten Hearts twice this season, another vital win wouldn’t be too big a shock and if it is 2-1 again, a price of 10/1 on this scoreline could bring you a nice win.
Hibernian v St Mirren (3.00pm)
Home win: 23/20 Draw: 11/5 Away win: 21/10
Key stat: Hibs have gone five home games without a win.
Betting tip: Hibernian’s recent terrible home form (and general form, with two wins in nine games) explains the good odds of 23/20 for a home win. And with St Mirren being Hibs’ favourite opponents after three meetings and three wins for the Edinburgh side, a bet on Hibernian’s first win at home since the first week of February could be a good punt.
Sunday, April 28th
Motherwell v Celtic (12.45pm)
Home win: 17/5 Draw: 5/2 Away win: 7/10
Key stat: There have been 15 meetings since these two last drew a match.
Betting tip: This first against second match-up means a lot less now that Celtic are confirmed as champions. Motherwell would like to gain some sort of revenge, while Celtic could come out looking to add to their points tally. Whatever happens, don’t expect the first share of the spoils in 16 games. Instead, back a double chance bet on there to be a winner at odds of 2/9.
