Saturday, March 30th
Aberdeen v Hearts (3.00pm)
Home win: 6/5 Draw: 37/19 Away win: 9/4
Key stat: The last five games at Pittodrie have produced just two goals.
Betting tip: If any fans decide to even turn up at a stadium witnessing such an epic goal drought then they could well be in for another game with few, if any, goals. Backing a fourth goalless draw in six games is priced at 25/4 and wouldn’t be the biggest shock of the weekend.
Dundee v Motherwell (3.00pm)
Home win: 3/1 Draw: 12/5 Away win: 4/5
Key stat: Although Dundee haven’t beaten Motherwell this year, they have scored first in both matches.
Betting tip: With Dundee fighting for survival, back the home side to get off to a good start by scoring the first goal. The odds are 8/5 for Dundee to score first and are worth a go, even if they may not eventually win the match.
Hibernian v Inverness (3.00pm)
Home win: 7/5 Draw: 11/5 Away win: 17/10
Key stat: Inverness have only scored in three of their last six games.
Betting tip: After an incredible run of scoring which saw them become the most consistent goalscorers in the country, Inverness’ form in front of goal has dipped in recent weeks. They have only scored in three of their last six games and face tough opposition in Hibernian, so a bet on a home clean sheet, priced at 13/5, could be worth a look.
Ross County v Kilmarnock (3.00pm)
Home win: 15/13 Draw: 23/10 Away win: 2/1
Key stat: Ross County have played Kilmarnock three times and have never scored.
Betting tip: Ross County lost their first game of 2013 in the last round of fixtures and an international break is exactly what they didn’t want after a disappointing result. Whether or not that defeat sparks a period of poorer form remains to be seen, but against Kilmarnock, a team they have never netted against, they may struggle. A bet on an away clean sheet could pay off big time at 14/5.
Sunday, March 31st
St Mirren v Celtic (12.45pm)
Home win: 25/4 Draw: 7/2 Away win: 7/20
Key stat: St Mirren have just won the Scottish League Cup.
Betting tip: On a high following a cup final win and with a semi-final victory against Celtic in the same tournament still fresh in their minds too, St Mirren will be tough for Celtic to beat at home on Sunday. A double chance bet on a home win or draw could be worth backing here at odds of 2/1.
Monday, April 1st
St Johnstone v Dundee United (8.00pm)
Home win: 6/4 Draw: 9/4 Away win: 31/20
Key stat: Not since 2006 have St Johnstone beaten United in the league.
Betting tip: A double chance bet has to backed here on an away win or a draw given that the Saints haven’t won an SPL game against Monday’s opponents in seven years. The odds on that bet are 12/25 – which must be worth a look.
