Friday, February 15th
Aberdeen v Dundee (7.45pm)
Home win: 1/2 Draw: 3/1 Away win: 9/2
Key stat: These two have only met twice at Pittodrie since 2005, with Aberdeen winning both.
Betting tip: Dundee have not been frequent visitors to Aberdeen recently, but the two games they have played at Pittodrie have not ended well for them. A 1-0 loss and a 2-0 defeat were the results from those two visits and another home win to nil, priced at 5/4, could be on the cards for the Dons against the basement boys.
Saturday, February 16th
Celtic v Dundee United (3.00pm)
Home win: 3/10 Draw: 15/4 Away win: 29/4
Key stat: Dundee United have lost on their last four visits to Celtic Park.
Betting tip: Despite a disappointing Champions League loss on Tuesday, Celtic should bounce back with a comfortable win over United on Saturday. They have won the last four times the Tangerines have visited Parkhead and 18 goals were scored over those four games, with 15 of them for the home side. So backing the Bhoys to win another game of over 3.5 goals at 37/20 could well pay off on Saturday.
Hearts v Kilmarnock (3.00pm)
Home win: 9/10 Draw: 12/5 Away win: 13/5
Key stat: Hearts have kept four clean sheets in their last six home games.
Betting tip: Hearts’ defending has improved greatly over recent weeks and against a Killie side with just three goals in four away trips, a clean sheet is a real possibility for the home side on Saturday. With good 8/5 odds on the away side not to score, it might be worth a punt.
Motherwell v Inverness (3.00pm)
Home win: 11/10 Draw: 12/5 Away win: 11/5
Key stat: Motherwell have already been 4-1 and 5-1 winners over Inverness this season.
Betting tip: Second-placed Inverness may be one point ahead of third-placed Motherwell, but it is the Steelmen who have dominated the pair’s two fixtures so far this season with 4-1 and 5-1 wins. Don’t expect this one to be as one-sided, but do back the home side to win at 11/10 against what seems to be their favourite opponent.
Ross County v St Johnstone (3.00pm)
Home win: 28/17 Draw: 9/4 Away win: 7/5
Key stat: Ross County are on a six-game unbeaten run.
Betting tip: County are in great form and have home advantage too in this one. St Johnstone, meanwhile, won 3-1 at Hibernian last weekend, but haven’t put together two consecutive victories since October. That suggests they won’t pick up another three points so soon after last week’s triumph over , making a Double Chance bet on a home win or draw look a smart shout at odds of 1/2.
St Mirren v Hibernian (3.00pm)
Home win: 23/17 Draw: 11/5 Away win: 7/4
Key stat: Hibernian have already beaten the Saints twice this season, both times by a 2-1 scoreline.
Betting tip: If you think that Hibs could earn a third 2-1 victory over St Mirren on Saturday then stick some money on the 8/1 odds for a repeat and you could be rewarded handsomely.
