Saturday, November 24th
Motherwell v Hearts (12.45pm)
Home win: 5/4 Draw: 23/10 Away win: 37/20
Key stat: In seven away league games this season, Hearts have scored in just three of them.
Betting tip: Motherwell are not the strongest home side with just the one home league win so far. That could change against a Hearts side that rarely score on their travels. Back a home win to nil at 13/5, or if you don’t fancy Motherwell to get their second home win then put your money on a 0-0 result, which is priced at 27/5.
Celtic v Inverness (3.00pm)
Home win: 1/5 Draw: 19/4 Away win: 10/1
Key stat: Nine of Inverness’ 17 games this year have produced more than 3.5 goals.
Betting tip: With these two taking part in a thrilling six-goal match-up earlier in the season, which Celtic won 4-2, another game of over 3.5 goals on Saturday would be nothing unusual for the away side. A bet on over 3.5 goals is given odds of 5/4.
Hibernian v Aberdeen (3.00pm)
Home win: 8/5 Draw: 11/5 Away win: 6/4
Key stat: The last three meetings between these two have been 2-1 wins, twice for Hibs and once for the Dons.
Betting tip: Could we see another 2-1 scoreline at full-time on Saturday? Well if you think we might then stick your money on it with Hibernian priced at 9/1 and Aberdeen at 17/2 to get the 2-1 win.
Kilmarnock v St Johnstone (3:00pm)
Home win: 7/5 Draw: 11/5 Away win: 17/10
Key stat: Killie have scored just three goals in their last six encounters with St Johnstone.
Betting tip: Kilmarnock don’t score too many against the Saints and only bagged one against them in the whole of last season. This suggests that an away clean sheet is quite possible in this one and it is available at 13/5 odds.
Ross County v Dundee United (3.00pm)
Home win: 7/4 Draw: 23/10 Away win: 13/10
Key stat: The last match between these two was a 0-0 bore draw in Dundee.
Betting tip: That 0-0 match was not the first goalless draw of Ross County’s season. They have had three other 0-0 results, as well as the one against United, and are priced at 27/4 to add a fifth on Saturday. The fans will hope otherwise, but with just five away goals for United in eight matches, it would be no surprise to see another goalless game.
St Mirren v Dundee (3.00pm)
Home win: 4/5 Draw: 12/5 Away win: 3/1
Key stat: After three games unbeaten, Dundee are on a roll. St Mirren, though, after six losses on the trot, are not.
Betting tip: After a terrible start to the season, Dundee have won two and drawn one of their last three SPL matches. On the other hand, their hosts on Saturday are stuck in a rut. The home crowd may just help the Saints see off the challenge from the bottom club, but back Dundee to score first for the fourth week in a row at 8/5.
