Friday, November 16th
Dundee United v Kilmarnock (7.45pm)
Home win: 83/100 Draw: 12/5 Away win: 29/10
Key stat: Only once this season have Killie failed to score on the road.
Betting tip: Kilmarnock always seem to find a goal on their travels, even bagging two at Celtic Park, and with United not keeping a home clean sheet since September, there are promising signs for those who bet on at least one away goal at 1/2.
Saturday, November 17th
Aberdeen v Celtic (Noon)
Home win: 5/1 Draw: 13/5 Away win: 53/100
Key stat: Celtic have scored first in the last 12 meetings between these sides.
Betting tip: While the Dons have earned some impressive results against Celtic in recent seasons, they have never started well in their games against them. Don’t expect them to do so this time based on recent history. Instead, back the 11/25 odds for the away side to score first.
Dundee v Hibernian (3pm)
Home win: 27/10 Draw: 23/10 Away win: 9/10
Key stat: Hibernian have won three on the trot, while Dundee sit bottom of the table.
Betting tip: There is little hope for the home side in this match-up, it has to be said. Dundee have just two wins all season, while Hibernian are top of the table. Expect the leaders to win comfortably and back an away win to nil, which is priced at 5/2.
Hearts v St Mirren (3pm)
Home win: 83/100 Draw: 23/10 Away win: 3/1
Key stat: After nine games without beating Hearts, St Mirren finally broke their bad run against the Jambos with a September win.
Betting tip: Hearts were St Mirren’s bogey team for a good few seasons. But after a 2-0 win in September, the Saints should feel more confident against the Edinburgh side. And with the visitors desperate for a win after losing five in a row, another 2-0 success against a side with just one win in seven wouldn’t be the biggest shock and could be a very decent outside punt at 20/1.
St Johnstone v Ross County (3pm)
Home win: Evens Draw: 9/4 Away win: 12/5
Key stat: There have been 24 goals in the last ten games between these two.
Betting tip: The matches between these two sides have rarely been high-scoring. That suggests that backing another low-scoring affair could pay off this weekend. A bet on less than 3.5 goals seems fairly safe at 7/25, while a bet on under 2.5 goals could bring in a bigger return at 3/4.
Sunday, November 18th
Inverness v Motherwell (12.45pm)
Home win: 13/10 Draw: 9/5 Away win: 9/4
Key stat: Inverness have scored in all 16 matches they have played this season in all competitions.
Betting tip: At home you would have to be very brave to bet against at least one Inverness goal against a Motherwell side that has conceded in all but one game this season. A 1/5 bet on the home team to score could be the safest of the weekend.
